    The military promised to return Mākua Valley six months after WWII. That never happened. This land is rich in Native Hawaiian culture and tradition and should be given back to the people of Hawaiʻi. My remarks during the hearing on U.S. Army’s FY23 budget.

    Native Hawaiian women earn only 57¢ for every dollar that their white, non-Hispanic male counterparts make. We must end these patterns of pay discrimination and strengthen workplace protections for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander women.
