the trouble is humans are literally structured to find “a wizard did it” a more plausible explanation than things just happening by accident for no reason.
How dare a wizard make humans think like this

bending implies deviation from the standard and I desperately want to know what race they think the Ever Given should be depicted as
According to Wikipedia, she was built by a Japanese company, is leased by a Taiwanese company, and operates under a Panamanian flag.
Log4J, a popular apache library for event logging in Java, has this vulnerability in certain versions where if someone using an application can control text within the logs (like a Minecraft server where messages are logged) they could possibly execute arbitrary code. (Depends on a setting though).
For the most part, if the application can be updated it's an easy patch, but it's a race against time now
I think it would be funny to set up an exploit that tries to "arbitrarily execute" the patch
Nice
obsessed with the way the snake hobbyist community will freak out over a color morph because of how rare it is but when you actually look at the snake they’re cooing over it’s the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen in your life
all animals are beautiful or wherever but I don’t care how rare this morph is… this snake looks like a tube of dirty meat
lots of people in the notes are like “aw but it’s kinda cute OP”
of course it’s kinda cute, it’s a snake—it’s just that people are going apeshit and spending thousands of dollars importing and linebreeding to attempt to create a snake that looks like rancid sausage when wild type California kingsnakes are already some of the most gorgeous reptiles on the planet and some of their more common morphs look like THIS:
Aww that first one is in morse code

boys love it when you say “colors are a psychologically complex phenomena which do not reduce to a simple objective ontology”

Homestuck is mythopoetic dadaism
apparently Sia has got into some autism related strife on Twitter and without knowing any of the details it always strikes me as funny when people don’t know what game they’re playing, like when a few hundred or thousand or hundred thousand people decide that a particular person has committed a transgression there’s this background assumption that the court is now in session and the accused is on the stand, while they often remain ignorant of that assumed context and reply to each incoming attack with mounting aggrieved frustration that only pours oil on the fire given that each reply is publicly visible.
it’s like if you were just going about your business, maybe taking a shower or playing Candy Crush, when someone barged in and demanded that you apologise for your crimes and you reply bitch who the hell are you only to suddenly find that you’re in court and they’re a judge and they were asking if you have any plea for clemency before sentencing and also you’re not wearing pants.
