    This new High Capacity Signalling will take our metro trains to new heights replacing our current “fixed block” system to the more hi-tech “moving block” system enabling trains to automatically adjust their speed to maintain a safe distance from the train in front.

    Our investments in transit infrastructure and smart technology are revolutionising our train network. When completed this change to high capacity signalling will be the biggest signalling change in more than 100 years. 👍 ⁦⁩

    Majority of fatalities on our roads happen because of simple mistakes. New data shows that last year 71% of road deaths involved a basic error, as opposed to high-risk behaviours such as speeding & drink-driving. We all have a responsibility to keep ourselves & others safe!

    COVID fatigue is being blamed for Victoria’s rising road toll. New data has revealed why many drivers are out of practice and aren’t paying attention behind the wheel.

    Today I visited central Victorian contractor, Centre State Asphalting, to meet with workers who have helped deliver more than 100 kilometres of works across the state, providing a much-needed boost to the local economy as Victoria continues to recover from the pandemic.

    Earlier this month, major upgrades were completed along the busiest tram corridor in the world. Nearly 600 metres of tracks were renewed on St Kilda Rd at the Fed Square/Flinders St Station tram stop. These vital upgrades will create a more reliable journey for passengers.

From Friday 23 July you will need to decide as early as the Millers Road interchange on your route to exit the West Gate Freeway as crews establish a new work site to continue strengthening & widening works.
