    just moved to a new space recently and it looks like they will have to move again. They do really good work on a very tight budget. If you know of any leads, please get in touch.

    Sometimes, all it takes is a little sunlight. This has happened so many times to me as a lawyer. My client gets just what they've been asking for right after I set up legal visit. Unfortunately, that's no way to run a system that respects human rights.

    a woman at Perryville has been waiting for weeks for an important surgery to be scheduled - we had a phone interview scheduled this morning re: health care "They just called me to medical & told me it was approved!" "They told you that this morning?" "Yeah isn't that weird?"

    And such book bans are clearly why prison tattoos DEFINITELY don't exist anywhere now! Very sensible, prisons, good job. Also, a prisoner would only ever want to learn drawing and calligraphy for that sole reason! Reminiscent of the conflation of ASL and "gang signs"--terrible.

    I've heard drawing/calligraphy bans are because tattoos aren't allowed

    I have seen a lot of efforts lately to limit or remove books from prisons. Here's a piece on why all inmates should have the right to read. One thing I miss about living in Philly was that I always had Books Through Bars to donate to, my go-to charity.
