Townsville dam spillway gates open fully, with flood zone facing further inundation

The gates of Townsville's dam have opened to their full setting, with the city council warning several suburbs should prepare for imminent flooding from a rapidly rising Ross River.

Yandeyarra Reserve investigated with more than 1,000 cattle expected to die

Yandeyarra Reserve, 100 kilometres south of Port Hedland in Western Australia's remote Pilbara region, has been named as the location of the property involved in a More than 300 cattle have been humanely destroyed by the state's Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development officers so far, and it is expected more than 1,000 head of cattle will die, after their condition deteriorated following a lack of food and water.
