This week we’re hitting the reset button and starting over. Renewing the anarchist tradition by exploring and examining ourselves, our perspectives, attributes, experiences, and actions. In this topic of the week, our aim is the sharing of insight around the idea of reflection.

It obviously depends on the individual anarchist whether or not they choose to participate in the political process, but I'm writing this piece to point out that the act of voting in state elections stands in direct contradiction with anarchy. If an anarchist chooses to vote, that action has nothing to do with furthering anarchy or anarchist principles. No anarchist worth their salt would pressure other anarchists into voting for their favorite politician.
Several blocks before the L & 12th Street intersection, I was already feeling that the march had run its course. At each cross street, we met a line of police, sirens blaring. A few brave souls still managed to fell some final windows on the periphery. Yet while the Bank of America windows had crashed in triumphant cacophony, these windows struck the pavement with an urgency that reflected our increasingly dire situation. We had no destination, no end goal. It felt as though we were running solely to evade police. I knew that it was time to break from the group, yet I still held a kind of separation anxiety.

NEW YORK (JTA) — To the degree that you know anything about Yiddish anarchism, it probably boils down to one name: Emma Goldman. And even then you are probably more familiar with Goldman as an immigrant firebrand and ur-“nasty woman” than for the truly radical content of her political philosophy.
An amnesty for the years of lead would also entail an admission — that in those years there was a widespread movement aimed at the revolutionary subversion of the dominant power structures. One which the State was so vehemently against in all its components, that it passed emergency legislation affecting the very foundations of Italy’s constitution and so-called legal civilisation.
