It's time to light up the barbecue and inflate your pool floaties. The shining sun and crowded beaches can only mean one thing — summer is officially here.

Today we’re sharing five things to Tweet about this July, illustrated with examples. By following and experimenting with these approaches, you won’t just be inserting yourself into the conversation for the sake of it; you’ll share your brand, add value, and express your personality in a genuine way.

Tweet video content

Tweets with videos are 6 times more likely to be Retweeted than Tweets with photos. Experiment by Tweeting different types of video content and see what resonates most with your audience.

@SahaleSnacks used a 15-second video to spotlight their delicious snacks.

Partner with influencers

Working with relevant influencers is an impactful way to reach new audiences. Partner with relevant bloggers and personalities to gather content you can share. Not sure where to get started? Check out some tips on how to do influencer marketing right in 2017.

Feature your interns

Summer is intern season. Put the spotlight on your interns by sharing a bit about them and what they are working on.

@lorealtalent used a Periscope broadcast to introduce their interns.

Share and encourage user generated content

Showcase your brand in action by Tweeting images from your customers. Encourage your followers to share their photos by creating a designated hashtag

Pro tip: Don't forget to include your customer's handle in the Tweet to give them credit for the content.

Retail brand @Urban_Planet shared a customer photo while encouraging their followers to share one too.

Tweet your best deals

People are on the hunt for the best summer deals and discounts. Tweet bold images to put your products in the spotlight.

Pro tip: We see more people click on Tweets that express discounts as percentages instead of a dollar amount. 20% off just sounds like more than $5 off, doesn't it?

@verabradley shared their best summer deals with a GIF.

Highlight your company culture

Summertime often means fun company offsites, ice cream socials, and picnics. Show your community what your company life is like by Tweeting photos and videos from these team events.

B2B company @anaplan shared photos from a recent team hike.
