In 2017, Eugene Antifa revealed that Bethany Sherman, owner of cannabis testing lab OG Analytical in Eugene, OR, was a Nazi with a large online presence of fascist and racist Twitter posts. Sherman was forced to close her business as a result. Now, Sherman, with the help of white supremacist attorney William Daniel Johnson, is attempting to abuse the court system in order to subpoena Eugene Antifa’s former web host to reveal personal information about members of Eugene Antifa and visitors to their website.
Thanks to a combination of tips from local community members and Unicorn Riot’s publication of the “Vibrant Diversity” logs, Rose City Antifa has been able to identify yet another neo-Nazi contributor to the Alt-Right fascist cultural insurgency which has been emboldened by the Trump candidacy and presidency. After years of Nazi activity including a history of involvement with NSM, Kenneth Stephen Hart aka Hand-Banana spent the past several years living between Vancouver, WA and Lake Oswego, OR while producing and being interviewed on countless Alt-Right and neo-Nazi podcasts.
For over a year now, Rose City Antifa and our allies have come together to resist the far-right group Patriot Prayer, led by Joey Gibson. In extensively-researched articles and in copious documentation, RCA has made it clear that Patriot Prayer events serve as an organizing and rallying platform for bigots, white nationalists, fascists, and neo-nazis.
Recently the tenor of Patriot Prayer rallies has escalated significantly. The fascists and white nationalists who attend Patriot Prayer events always love the opportunity to lash out at anti-fascist activists, and the far-right has actively been involved in demonizing anti-fascism in order to score political points.
Rose City Antifa, working in conjunction with allied groups in the region, has obtained information on many of the Pacific Northwest-located members of the white nationalist, alt-right group known as the Proud Boys. Over the coming weeks, we will be publishing a series of articles detailing the Proud Boys’ specific brand of organized hate, and the individuals who make up this rising “weekend warrior” gang, in order to alert the community about the threat that this group poses.
July 25th, 2018 marks the fourth annual International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners. Rose City Antifa will be doing the Postcards To Prisoners campaign the week of July 18th - July 25th as we’ve done in years past.
With the global rise of the fascist right it is crucial that antifascists support our POWs. The International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners is an important time for us to remember our comrades around the world behind bars, take the time to raise their spirits, and also to raise awareness of their struggle.
