The Dublin Review of Books has published essays chiefly in the fields of literature, history, arts, culture and the human sciences on a quarterly basis since Spring 2007. Since Autumn 2012 it publishes fortnightly with additional material added between issues.
Our ambition is to promote analysis and ideas by reflecting on international and Irish themes and, where appropriate, on their interaction.
The drb publishes in four main categories: long-form essays which are normally tied to recently published books but which may range more widely; shorter and more focused reviews of newly published books; blog entries ranging over a number of fields including the lives and working practices of writers and artists, the history of Dublin, the traditions and future of book publishing and bookselling, and forthcoming literary and cultural events; short extracts which aim to give some of the flavour or argument of newly published books.
