This is a concrete floor done in Buena Park, CA by Albuquerque Polished Concrete Company. This is a high gloss polished concrete floor with heavily exposed aggregate. We used the Husqvarna PG820 planetary grinding machine and started with 30 grit metal bond diamond tooling to expose the aggregate in the floor. Wet grinding was used to produce the floor and a sodium silicate densifier/hardener was used to assist in the concrete polishing process. The floor was polished to a 3000 grit finish using resin bond diamond tooling and sealed with a lithium densifier based polished concrete sealer. The floor was then burnished with a hogs hair pad and a high speed propane burnisher. Please go to our website for more info. Enjoy!

Polished concrete
Polished concrete is concrete that has been treated with a chemical densifier and ground with progressively finer grinding tools. The grinding tools are usually progressive grits of diamond grinding cup wheels and diamond polishing pads. Typically, concrete is not considered polished before 400 grit, and it is normally finished to either the 800, 1500, or 3000 grit level. Stains and dyes are often applied to enhance polished concrete as well as other options such as scoring, creating radial lines, grids, bands, borders, and other designs.
Benefits
Polished concrete is considered a good sustainable design flooring option because it makes use of the materials already present. Most modern buildings are built on a concrete slab; polishing the exposed concrete eliminates the energy and material consumed by applying a floor covering. It is something to consider when building or modernizing towards a more green solution.
Polished concrete floors are low-maintenance, as they are more durable and easier to clean than many flooring options. Its relatively high coefficient of friction can make it non-slippery. Polished concrete reduces dust mite and allergen problems, and does not support mould growth. Anecdotal evidence suggests highly reflective polished concrete reduces lighting needs and improves natural lighting, but as yet there has not been a study to confirm this. Polished concrete flooring is hard wearing and will not chip or dent like softer surfaces such as timber. Mopping with warm soapy water once a week is the only maintenance required. A concrete floor that has been hardened and polished will have an extremely long life expectancy compared to other flooring. For example, tile that may only last 10–20 years(tile is a vague term. porcelain will last hundreds of years with no maintenance), but a polished concrete floor that has been properly maintained may give 100+ years of service.

Concrete
Concrete is a composite material composed of aggregate bonded together with a fluid cement which hardens over time. Most use of the term "concrete" refers to Portland cement concrete or to concretes made with other hydraulic cements, such as ciment fondu. However, road surfaces are also a type of concrete, "asphaltic concrete", where the cement material is bitumen.
In Portland cement concrete (and other hydraulic cement concretes), when the aggregate is mixed together with the dry cement and water, they form a fluid mass that is easily molded into shape. The cement reacts chemically with the water and other ingredients to form a hard matrix which binds all the materials together into a durable stone-like material that has many uses. Often, additives (such as pozzolans or superplasticizers) are included in the mixture to improve the physical properties of the wet mix or the finished material. Most concrete is poured with reinforcing materials (such as rebar) embedded to provide tensile strength, yielding reinforced concrete.

Polished Concrete Process
www.polishedconcretecompany.com This is a concrete floor done in Buena Park, CA by Albuquerque Polished Concrete Company. This is a high gloss polished concrete floor with heavily exposed aggregate. We used the Husqvarna PG820 planetary grinding machine and started with 30 grit metal bond diamond tooling to expose the aggregate in the floor. Wet grinding was used to produce the floor and a sodium silicate densifier/hardener was used to assist in the concrete polishing process. The floor was polished to a 3000 grit finish using resin bond diamond tooling and sealed with a lithium densifier based polished concrete sealer. The floor was then burnished with a hogs hair pad and a high speed propane burnisher. Please go to our website for more info. Enjoy!

Polished Concrete Process
www.polishedconcretecompany.com This is a concrete floor done in Buena Park, CA by Albuquerque Polished Concrete Company. This is a high gloss polished concrete floor with heavily exposed aggregate. We used the Husqvarna PG820 planetary grinding machine and started with 30 grit metal bond diamond tooling to expose the aggregate in the floor. Wet grinding was used to produce the floor and a sodium silicate densifier/hardener was used to assist in the concrete polishing process. The floor was polished to a 3000 grit finish using resin bond diamond tooling and sealed with a lithium densifier based polished concrete sealer. The floor was then burnished with a hogs hair pad and a high speed propane burnisher. Please go to our website for more info. Enjoy!

This is a concrete floor done in Buena Park, CA by Albuquerque Polished Concrete Company. This is a high gloss polished concrete floor with heavily exposed aggregate. We used the Husqvarna PG820 planetary grinding machine and started with 30 grit metal bond diamond tooling to expose the aggregate in the floor. Wet grinding was used to produce the floor and a sodium silicate densifier/hardener was used to assist in the concrete polishing process. The floor was polished to a 3000 grit finish using resin bond diamond tooling and sealed with a lithium densifier based polished concrete sealer. Polished Knife Edge Vs Rough Edge Test
Testing the edge retention between a rough or toothy edge and a high polished edge. Knives used were made by me, owner and craftsman at WC Knives, both made from 1/8" O1 tools steel with a full flat grind and a secondary bevel. Material used was cardboard. Appreciate your support!

Sorry the video kept going in and out of focus...I filmed this on my Sony A5000 and that has auto focus. Hope it wasn't too distracting! I'm in the process of reorganizing my single shadow pans from Z Palettes to mostly Makeup Forever XL Palettes....and a few random Nars, Tarte and Morphe palettes....I don't have them all done yet so thats why I still had some in Z Palettes.
Also I didnt include my large Morphe palettes in this video....we kinda ran out of time and I thought I could maybe film a seperate video on just them. I have quite a few so that's something I may film in the future. If that's something you would like please let me know!!
