Mongolia i/mɒŋˈɡoʊliə/ (Mongolian: ᠮᠤᠩᠭᠤᠯ
ᠤᠯᠤᠰ [Monggol Ulus] in Mongolian script; Монгол Улс [Mongol Uls] in Mongolian Cyrillic) is a sovereign state in east-central Asia. It is bordered by Russia to the north and China to the south, east and west. While they do not share a border, Mongolia is separated from Kazakhstan by only 36.76 kilometres (22.84 mi). Ulaanbaatar, the capital and largest city, is home to about 45% of the population.
The area of what is now Mongolia has been ruled by various nomadic empires, including the Xiongnu, the Xianbei, the Rouran, the Turkic Khaganate, and others. In 1206, Genghis Khan founded the Mongol Empire, and his grandson Kublai Khan conquered China to establish the Yuan dynasty. After the collapse of the Yuan, the Mongols retreated to Mongolia and resumed their earlier pattern of factional conflict, except during the era of Dayan Khan and Tumen Zasagt Khan. In the 16th century, Tibetan Buddhism began to spread in Mongolia, being further led by the Manchu-founded Qing dynasty, which absorbed the country in the 17th century. By the early 1900s, almost one-third of the adult male population were Buddhist monks.

However big growth and spending inevitably sparks high inflation and Mongolia is no exception, with 11 per cent inflation in December. So is it all too much, too fast? And is the Mongolian economy over-reliant on these natural resources? To answer these questions Counting the Cost spoke to Tsakhiagin Elbegdorj, the Mongol...

http://preparetoserve.com/MONGOLIA Traditional Food in Mongolia. Mongolian food is delicious. Here are some common dishes.
Buuz, steamed dumplings, are one of Mongolian's oldest traditional foods. They are usually made from minced beef or lamb mixed with onions, garlic, and cabbage. Buuz are eaten throughout the year all over Mongolia. They are particularly special at Tsaagan Sar (Mongolian New Year), when people spend three days visiting each others' homes eating buuz, drinking vodka, and chatting with loved ones.
In 2016 we travelled for a month through the great expanses of Mongolia. We started the trip with a few days in Ulaanbaatar to experience the sprawling metropolis. We also had a chance to go to Hustai National Park not far from UB to see the last remaining wild horse, the Takhi. Then we went on a ten day adventure to go live with the Tsaatan Reindeer Herder tribe in the very north on the border of Siberia. This was an incredible experience and it was very demanding with multiple days on horseback after a long strenuous multi-day 4WD trip. After a short recovery we went to the eastern part of the country to the Bayan-Ölgii Province to attend the Golden Eagle Festival. This festival has really been the focus of the Mongolian travel in recent time, very much because of Aishol-pan the "Eagle H...
