In the rail yards of Queens, contractors repair and rebuild the city's subway cars. These contracts are lucrative, so graft and corruption are rife. Willie Gutierrez, Leo's best friend, is Frank's bag man and heads a crew of midnight saboteurs who ruin the work of the Puerto Rican-owned firm. Leo needs a job, so Willie pays him to be his back-up. Recently Optimum Releasing released the box set, the Sonny Chiba Collection: Volume 1 in the UK. It comprises the three films Yakuza Deka , The Killing Machine and Yakuza Deka: The Assassin , and the top of the box claims that the films are 'digitally remastered and fully uncut'.

This film was originally shown to the BBFC in an unfinished version. The BBFC advised the company that the film was likely to receive a 15 classification but that the requested 12A certificate could be achieved by making changes to dialogue. In particular the BBFC suggested that the company remove the line, my thingy smells like lamb chops when a character talks about multiplying with sheep ; that they remove the line, did you know he can put his penis in his mouth, the whole thing ; and the line his poor rectum is absolutely pulverised, which is not usual for a sheep in this region . When the finished version of the film was submitted these changes had been made and the film was classified 12A .

The BBFC explained their 12 certificate

Year One is a Judd Apatow/Harold Ramis comedy starring Jack Black and Michael Sera as two ill fated hunter gatherers who flee their village, then in pursuit of friends sold into slavery, voyage through the Biblical Ancient world meeting Cain and sundry others.

Year One was classified 12A as it contains moderate language, sex references and one use of strong language. The word bitch is used twice along with sundry euphemisms for male genitalia ('dick', boner') and strong langauge occurs once. There are also several references to Sodom and Gomorrah, sodomy, depravity, 'whores and similar. In one scene at a party, a character is required to give an oil rub to a High Priest which entails verbal references to nut sacks and also there are mentions of sexually transmitted infections. Abraham appears as a character who plans to circumcise the males in his tribe; circumcision is described in moderate detail and recurs as a running joke. Caveman sexual etiquette is also lampooned with several references to hitting women over the head as part of seduction. BBFC guidelines state that at 12A/12 ; Sexual activity may be implied. Sex references may reflect what is likely to be familiar to most adolescents but should not go beyond what is suitable for them. And: The use of strong language must be infrequent.

Additionally fight scenes involve a head butt, several clear punches to the head, masked beheading and some other blood free sword slashes.

The Yellow Teddy bears

Summary Notes

A clique of girls in an English school wear a small yellow teddybear on their uniform to signify that they have lost their virginity. Linda, the girl's leader, fears she may be pregnant from her window cleaner boyfriend, "Kinky", an aspiring pop singer. Desperate, and unable to confide in her parents, she must wrestle with her conscience and decide what course of action to take. Meanwhile, a concerned teacher learns the significance of the yellow teddybears, and in trying to help the girls in question, puts her own career in jeopardy.

The badge was originally going to be a Yellow Golliwog along the lines of Robertson's Jam merchandising, but the company wouldn't have it.

The film was originally awarded an MPAA R rating for some sexual content in February 2016. Now the rating has been downgraded to PG-13.

The Director tweeted said that the MPAA had changed the rating from R to PG-13 on the eve of his scheduled appeal screening, which was subsequently cancelled.

Smith announced his intent to appeal last week and claimed the reasoning was for a cartoony drawing of testicles on a book cover. Nothing will have to be removed from the film, according to Smith. He did not quite say that no cuts had been made, so presumably he had somehow obscured the offending book cover.

Summary Notes

Francesa Kinsolving, a very pregnant widow whose husband was rescently killed in action in Vietnam, travels to visit her late husband's mother in a snowy Minnesota town only to get snowed in during a fierce blizard where she's forced to wait it out only to slowly uncover some terrible dark secrets that Mrs. Kinsolving has been hiding, one of them is her psychotic other son, a recent escapee from a lunatic asylum, who is shacked up in the basement of the house.

• This film was seen for advice, prior to formal submission. The company was informed that the likely classification was 15, but that their preferred 12A could be achieved by removing a single use of the word 'motherfucker'. When the film was submitted for formal classification, this word had been replaced and the film was classified 12A.

A single aggressive and directed use of motherfucker by an adult to a child, was removed.

Towards the end of the film, the titular character does a TV interview, whilst being manipulated by the lady who runs the Smithsonian Institute. In the original film, after the interview spectacularly fails, she calls Spivet You motherfucker , albeit at a distance, and from behind her, so you can't see her face/mouth!

In the UK version, motherfucker has been dubbed quite well by the same actress, or at least someone who sounds very similar, with the immortal You melon-farmer!

If it weren't for this, and two uses of the word fuck , which were all completely unnecessary and totally jarring, this would have been a PG-rated film, ideal for youngsters and families.

Presumably the use of the word 'motherfucker' and two used of the word 'fuck' have been cut.
