Inizia la sua carriera artistica nel 1994 partecipando a varie jam sessions nei più famosi club hiphop della capitale. Due anni dopo, insieme a Piotta e Dj Squarta, fonda la crew Robba Coatta.
Dopo un intensa attività live in tutta la penisola e grazie al suo stile ironico e sarcastico, Turi si afferma come uno dei migliori intrattenitori e improvvisatori della scena hiphop italiana. Nel 1998 partecipa al primo singolo di Piotta "Spingo io". Nell'autunno dello stesso anno viene pubblicato Comunque vada sarà un successo, il primo album ufficiale di Piotta, dove Turi appare in sei tracce. Degno di nota è il brano Dimmi qual'è il nome, secondo singolo estratto, che permette al rapper calabrese di farsi notare anche in TV grazie al video girato dai Manetti Bros.
Nell'estate del 1999 produce il suo primo mini album solista Aspromonte A-roma in edizione limitata di 500 copie. Grazie al successo del brano Supercafone (disco d'oro), Turi, in compagnia di Piotta e dj Squarta partecipa ad un intenso tour promozionale di circa 90 date. Da menzionare la performance all' MTV Day 1999.
Nel 2000 recita nel film Zora la vampira, di Carlo Verdone e Manetti bros, e partecipa con il brano "D'istinto" alla soundtrack del film. Nello stesso anno collabora alla compilation hiphop Novecinquanta di Fritz Da Cat. Viene girato un videoclip a New York del suo brano Schiaffetto correttivo.
Nel 2001 Turi inizia la sua carriera solista firmando il suo primo contratto discografico con l'etichetta indipendente romana Goodymusic Production Srl. Nell'estate dello stesso anno riceve innumerevoli elogi dalla critica specializzata grazie al suo primo album Salviamo il salvabile dove, oltre ad apparire come rapper, firma anche le musiche. Nella primavera del 2004 sempre per Goodymusic Production Srl esce il suo secondo album ufficiale L'amico degli amici che contiene il singolo (con videoclip) Cosa vuoi da me.
Con il brano in questione Turi, nell'ottobre del 2005, si aggiudica il premio come "miglior singolo" all'interno della oramai nota manifestazione hiphop nazionale Mc Giaime. Nel maggio del 2006 partecipa come rapper al progetto organizzato dalla Red Bull Homegroove e dalla Royality Gli originali, un musical Hip Hop sotto la direzione musicale e l'orchestra del compositore italiano, il maestro Franco Micalizzi.

After a two-months work, i can finally publish my last short documentary: the animated doodle "History of Sicily in one hundred seconds".
As the title suggests, it's a fast-run across a pressing and hyper-compact narration.
Those who knew little or nothing about the events told, will be surprised by the great number of conflicts, wars, monarchies, dominations, martyrs and crimes that plagued the island in millenniums.
I advise to not blink your eyelids as you watch the video: you risk to loose a whole century.

History of Sicily
The history of Sicily has seen Sicily usually controlled by greater powers—Roman, Vandal, Byzantine, Islamic, Norman, Hohenstaufen, Catalan, Spaniard—but also experiencing short periods of independence, as under the Greeks and later as the Emirate then Kingdom of Sicily. Although today part of the Republic of Italy, it has its own distinct culture.
Sicily is both the largest region of the modern state of Italy and the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Its central location and natural resources ensured that it has been considered a crucial strategic location due in large part to its importance for Mediterranean trade routes. For example, the area was highly regarded as part of Magna Graecia, with Cicero describing Syracuse as the greatest and most beautiful city of all Ancient Greece.
The economic history of rural Sicily has focused on its "latifundium economy" caused by the centrality of large, originally feudal, estates used for cereal cultivation and animal husbandry that developed in the 14th century and persisted until World War II.

Suffering always finds its way out. I started it as a final project for the class Traditional Animation 1 at AAU, but I eventually decided to bring it beyond the required pencil tests and add sound, color and shading. The dog is animated the old-school way: blue pencil on animation paper, and this is why the outline looks a bit fuzzy. Analog drawings, how quaint… This animated short was entirely made with free software: GIMP+GAP, Blender, Audacity, ffmpeg on GNU/Linux. -

Making Of video for Turi Scandurra's animated film Oranguerrilla, done by mixing traditional 2D animation done with pencil and paper, and an extensive use of digital tools and compositing in a 3D environment. The backstage shows the work of two and a half years necessary to manage all the production steps, from the early sketches to character design and from the construction of the drawings to special effects and digital compositing. The short film tells the story of how two kids, who to take care of an orange grove, fight an evil mechanical juicer, symbol of what was once useful to the community but is now rusty and inefficient. The film is an allegory that suggests how the work of young citizens is a strong antidote to the corruption of a nation. Oranguerrilla is Turi Scandurra's student film for the Master of Fine Arts in Animation and Special Effects at Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Plot: Country bumpkin Frank runs into a gangland shooting, driving the victims to the gang's headquarters. He soon earns a place in Erik's mob. Syndicate head Big John wishes to unite the four gangs in Chicago, but Erik defies them, wishing to remain independent. An assassination attempt forces him to reconsider, and his gang isn't impressed with what they take for his cowardice. This is the point that allows the ambitious Frank to muscle in on Erik's mob, and his moll, Lucie. Frank's first move is to hire outside pros, and shoot up a casino of Big John's, challenging the entire syndicate. Erik, meanwhile, harbors feelings of revenge.

Plot: Women wait anxiously at a minehead in Capodarso, Sicily. Their men are underground. The mine is closing and the miners refuse to come up unless the owner relents. After three days, they give up in despair... In a bar in town, Ciccio is recruiting workers for jobs in France. He can get people over the border - for L20,000 a head. Enough people to fill a bus sell their belongings to pay the fee, including Saro and his 3 young children, and Barbara and her man Vanni, in trouble with the law and desperate to flee Italy. After reaching Naples by train, Ciccio tries to slip away but is grabbed by Vanni. Vanni tells Barbara where to meet at the border if anything should go wrong. In Rome, Ciccio points out Vanni to the police. In the shoot-out, both Vanni and Ciccio escape. The others are arrested. They are ordered by the police to return to Sicily or be charged with "illegal expatriation". With Saro as leader, and nearly out of money, they head north instead. Hardship draws Saro and Barbara closer together...

After a two-months work, i can finally publish my last short documentary: the animated doodle "History of Sicily in one hundred seconds". As the title suggests, it's a fast-run across a pressing and hyper-compact narration. Those who knew little or nothing about the events told, will be surprised by the great number of conflicts, wars, monarchies, dominations, martyrs and crimes that plagued the island in millenniums. I advise to not blink your eyelids as you watch the video: you risk to loose a whole century. More info here: http://www.salvatorescandurra.com/blog/2010/08/22/gone-with-the-spurt/ I'd like to consider it as a deep reflection on the blindness toward the feelings and the basic needs of our closest friends, but this description might appear inappropriate… The moral of this story? Suffering always finds its way out. I started it as a final project for the class Traditional Animation 1 at AAU, but I eventually decided to bring it beyond the required pencil tests and add sound, color and shading. The dog is animated the old-school way: blue pencil on animation paper, and this is why the outline looks a bit fuzzy. Analog drawings, how quaint… This animated short was entirely made with free software: GIMP+GAP, Blender, Audacity, ffmpeg on GNU/Linux.

The backstage shows the work of two and a half years necessary to manage all the production steps, from the early sketches to character design and from the construction of the drawings to special effects and digital compositing. The short film tells the story of how two kids, who to take care of an orange grove, fight an evil mechanical juicer, symbol of what was once useful to the community but is now rusty and inefficient. Nell'autunno dello stesso anno viene pubblicato Comunque vada sarà un successo, il primo album ufficiale di Piotta, dove Turi appare in sei tracce. Degno di nota è il brano Dimmi qual'è il nome, secondo singolo estratto, che permette al rapper calabrese di farsi notare anche in TV grazie al video girato dai Manetti Bros.
Nell'estate del 1999 produce il suo primo mini album solista Aspromonte A-roma in edizione limitata di 500 copie. Grazie al successo del brano Supercafone (disco d'oro), Turi, in compagnia di Piotta e dj Squarta partecipa ad un intenso tour promozionale di circa 90 date. Da menzionare la performance all' MTV Day 1999.
Nel 2000 recita nel film Zora la vampira, di Carlo Verdone e Manetti bros, e partecipa con il brano "D'istinto" alla soundtrack del film. Nello stesso anno collabora alla compilation hiphop Novecinquanta di Fritz Da Cat. Viene girato un videoclip a New York del suo brano Schiaffetto correttivo.
Nel 2001 Turi inizia la sua carriera solista firmando il suo primo contratto discografico con l'etichetta indipendente romana Goodymusic Production Srl. Nell'estate dello stesso anno riceve innumerevoli elogi dalla critica specializzata grazie al suo primo album Salviamo il salvabile dove, oltre ad apparire come rapper, firma anche le musiche. Nella primavera del 2004 sempre per Goodymusic Production Srl esce il suo secondo album ufficiale L'amico degli amici che contiene il singolo (con videoclip) Cosa vuoi da me.
Con il brano in questione Turi, nell'ottobre del 2005, si aggiudica il premio come "miglior singolo" all'interno della oramai nota manifestazione hiphop nazionale Mc Giaime. Nel maggio del 2006 partecipa come rapper al progetto organizzato dalla Red Bull Homegroove e dalla Royality Gli originali, un musical Hip Hop sotto la direzione musicale e l'orchestra del compositore italiano, il maestro Franco Micalizzi.

After a two-months work, i can finally publish my last short documentary: the animated doodle "History of Sicily in one hundred seconds".
As the title suggests, it's a fast-run across a pressing and hyper-compact narration.
Those who knew little or nothing about the events told, will be surprised by the great number of conflicts, wars, monarchies, dominations, martyrs and crimes that plagued the island in millenniums.
I advise to not blink your eyelids as you watch the video: you risk to loose a whole century.

The moral of this story? Suffering always finds its way out.
I started it as a final project for the class Traditional Animation 1 at AAU, but I eventually decided to bring it beyond the required pencil tests and add sound, color and shading.
The dog is animated the old-school way: blue pencil on animation paper, and this is why the outline looks a bit fuzzy. Analog drawings, how quaint…

The backstage shows the work of two and a half years necessary to manage all the production steps, from the early sketches to character design and from the construction of the drawings to special effects and digital compositing.
The short film tells the story of how two kids, who to take care of an orange grove, fight an evil mechanical juicer, symbol of what was once useful to the community but is now rusty and inefficient.
The film is an allegory that suggests how the work of young citizens is a strong antidote to the corruption of a nation.
Oranguerrilla is Turi Scandurra's student film for the Master of Fine Arts in Animation and Special Effects at Academy of Art University, San Francisco.
