Unwinding may refer to:
My Brightest Diamond is the project of singer–songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Shara Worden. The band has released four studio albums, 2006's Bring Me the Workhorse, 2008's A Thousand Shark's Teeth, 2011's All Things Will Unwind, and 2014's This Is My Hand, along with remix albums Tear It Down and Shark Remixes, Volumes 1-4. Worden has also recorded and performed with The Decemberists (as "The Queen" on their album Hazards of Love) and Sufjan Stevens' albums Illinoise and The Age of Adz.
My Brightest Diamond mixes elements of chamber music, and rock. While living in New York City, Worden began writing her own material, which had one foot in her classical training and the other in the avant rock she was discovering. She became as involved in the world of underground rock as she was in the realms of classical music, becoming inspired by the likes of Antony and the Johnsons and Nina Nastasia and their intimate performances at venues such as Tonic, The Living Room, and the Knitting Factory.
Based on the novel by UNWIND by Neal Shusterman. We were recommended the book Unwind. I read it straight through and found it to be very thought provoking and well written. We wanted to do a video for it for awhile, but couldn't figure out which scene. We were sent a short script by Tansy Gardam and thought it was great. Hope you enjoy the short and go out and read the book. http://www.facebook.com/pages/MainStay-Productions/164905386860701
John Barnes PT demonstrating self myofascial unwinding. Myofascial unwinding is the movement-facilitation aspect of my myofascial-release approach. The mind-bodys ability to self-correct.
Unwinding is a term used in many different manual therapeutic methods, broadly centered around these intentions: -- Take person's a tissue interface, a limb, or an axial segment into a position of relative safety and ease: a 'Local Neutral'. -- Try to find the exact point of greatest ease -- where tensional and compressive forces seem to balance out -- and if it seems to move, follow it. -- Notice changes to breath, reflexive guarding, range of motion, and autonomic tone. Notice as well if no change is taking place. -- Cyclically involve the conscious mind of your patient to perceive and investigate the changes. -- Use what you feel to identify structures and structural behaviors elsewhere in the body that seem linked to the present one. ...Read more of this post at http://www.neurofas...

(Visit: http://www.uctv.tv/) Harry Kreisler welcomes George Packer for a discussion of his new book, "The Unwinding: An Inner History of the New America." Packer discusses his formative experiences, including forging his own political identity and coming to terms with the legacy of his progressive grandfather and his liberal father. He then recounts the influence of his mother on his writing and his odyssey—Peace Corps, construction, working with the homeless, and membership in the socialist party-- that led him to writing as a vocation. After sketching the skills and temperament of a writer, Packer describes the origins of his new book and its architecture. He then discusses the two groups of men and women whose personal narratives his book explores and relates how their lives give in...
There are several mechanisms by which music can have this effect. First of all, music has positive physical effects. It can produce direct biological changes (link is external), such as reducing heart rate, blood pressure, and cortisol levels. This music will help you unwinding yourself, your real eternal identity. I find that there are few things as calming and can help me unwind more than pairing a great cigar with a fine glass of single malt scotch. I've tried to capture that feeling with this 60 second video. The footage was shot using a Canon HV30 with a Letus 35mm adapter and Nikon 50mm lense. Editing was done in Adobe Premiere.
Music: La Redécouverte, by Yann Tiersen, from the Amélie movie soundtrack. This is one of two pieces I created for Strutten’s Square One exhibition. I drew the type by hand, scanned it, redrew it in Illustrator and then made the physical from pin and string. Hundreds and hundreds of metres of string! Unfortunately I don't have video of the string winding, but you can see how the pinning process takes shape, as well as the drawing in Adobe Illustrator through the wonders of time lapse and stop motion.
When life gives you so much, you need to take a step back and unwind. All footage using Canon Rebel T2i. Lenses used 55-250 IS 50mm f1.8
One minute of a music box mechanism as it plays out with the last of its winding. Lit with a bare 60W lightbulb. Shot with a GH1 + 58mm Helios-44M f2 + 1" extension tube. I took seven takes of this, as the amount of winding and previous stopping position influenced how much tune I would get before the spring ran out of energy. This one is take no.5. What [sort of] can't be seen here is a sheet of glass that is tacked inside the wooden music box to cover the mechanism. Its reflection-prone surface causes some hazyness, so I decided to turn up the contrast in-camera as much as I could - I didn't want it looking extra washed-out. Won Runner Up for "1 Minute: A Vimeo Weekend Project" on 24th November 2011.

I've been caught at the scene of the crime;
I'm in love with a woman, but the woman's not mine...
She's tied a knot with an acquaintance,
See I'm doing my best to be patient.
See I wrote her a song, but she wasn't impressed
She's nonchalant, but she's so well-dressed.
I'm in love, with bad timing,
She's in love; the knot's unwinding.
I'm in love, and I'm sorry.
Yeah I'm sorry, Ohhh.
Is it driven by selfish ambition?
I feel like a traitor, on a patriot's mission.
It ain't life, it ain't death, but it's love-love-
love...
I'm in love with a woman, but the woman's not mine...
She's tied a knot with an acquaintance,
I'm doin' my best to be patient.
But see I wrote her a song, but she wasn't impressed.
She's nonchalant but she's so well-dressed.
I'm in love, with bad timing,
She's in love; the knot's unwinding.
I'm in love, And I'm sorry that I fell...
I'm sure he treats you very well...
I hope to see you soon...
I've been howling at the moon...
-Howl-
Call me if you can...
I want to be your man.
I'm in love, with bad timing...
She's in love; the knot's unwinding...
I'm in love... and I'm sorry.
