NRL Live 2017: New Zealand Warriors v Manly Sea Eagles

Some real individual flourishes for Manly, this afternoon.

Cherry-Evans, of course, winning the thing - but you've got to hand it to Tom Trbojevic who made a number of key runs, whilst also creating a couple of trys with great vision.

Manly survive for now, while the Warriors go down for the eighth game running.

In much the same position as his earlier attempt, Daly Cherry-Evans right footed attempt is shut down before he can get it away.

He bursts off of that foot instead, making mincemeat of the kick chaser - and leaving himself a bit of space to have a crack with the left.

It's not the prettiest kick but it's got enough life behind it to get over the crossbar while remaining in between the uprights.

Manly keep their season alive in the most desperate of finishes!

Daly Cherry-Evans looked to have a chance there, but he didn't get the best delivery of the football.

He had a think about hitting one off the left, but in the end he puts up the bomb to the left corner instead.

The Warriors won't get an opportunity after Fusitua broke away and made up a whole lot of ground.

As the ball was spread out to the left side though, Manly manage to force the attack over the sideline.

The Warriors get first use of the football. The Warriors also get use of the wind at their backs, as they have had for the second half.

Johnson almost kicks out on the full, but get's away with it from the halfway line. Shocking kick given the benefit he's got from that breeze.

Manly feed from 35m out.

This is extraordinary. Cherry-Evans fails to trap the ball effectively with his foot.

Addin Fonua-Blake knocks on the stationary ball on his own try line! The Warriors will attempt to set up Johnson for the field goal...

He gets a chance a few tackles in but he's sprayed it! Time is running out and we could be sending this thing to golden point.

Cherry-Evans has a big attempt from about 30 metres out, the referee blows and puts his hand up! But no! He's missed it!

The siren sounds... What a final period. Who knows what golden point will bring.

The Warriors kick it dead off the kick off. I know it's windy, but you don't want to be doing that at a time like this.

Penalty kick from halfway, they'll start from 40 metres.

A few tackles in they are metres away, looking to take the win. 

Huge pressure from chasers, Cherry-Evans is granted the smallest of windows to nail a field goal attempt.

In the end he boots it in between the two chasers who had all but reached him!

Tom Trbojevic magic once again!

He's got his hands on the ball and found a bit of a space about 20 metres from the line. He puts up the little chip which initially looks like it is going toward Cherry-Evans, who is running in line with the fullback but about 10 metres to the left.

In the end it head straight on and the man who kicks is the man who finishes!

The Warriors force a mistake in their kick chase. It's a real deep one, and Matthew Wright takes a little longer than expected to field it.

Fusitua is involved, of course - he's had a huge game.

Either way, the Warriors will have a full set from inside Manly's 10 metres. A couple of tackles in, Johnson has the presence of mind to hit the field goal and extend the lead to seven points.

How about the huge take from Fusitua on the short kick off as well!

The Warriors strike back!

Hints of a forward pass from Tuivasa-Sheck on the final-ball but the on field decision is that it's all good.

Lovely play that deserved points on the end of it - a couple of blockers opened things up for some quick hands to finish it off on the left hand side.

Johnson takes over the kicking and uses the wind to draw the ball through the posts after starting out to the right. 

David Fusitua has been allowed to stay on the field after copping a boot to the head. 

Issac Luke is off the field under a head injury assessment for much the same (accidental) treatment, but the Warriors have avoided losing a second man to the head bin.

Simon Mannering comes up with an error - it was a pretty poor pass, above his head, but you'd expect him to take those.

Warriors completing just over 75 per cent of their sets at this point. That's compared to 83 per cent for Manly.

The Sea Eagles are given a seven-tackle set after Johnson's kick goes dead in-goal. It was from about the 40-metre mark with the wind at his back.

Definitely a chance to kick a 40/20 earlier in the tackle count, but so far Johnson hasn't had a crack.

In fact, he is unlikely to do so any time soon - he looks to be having a bit of trouble with the knee. 

They've done it again! Back-to-back sets where Manly have dropped it in their own half.

Manly come again. In the end, a pretty poor kick from Brian Kelly but a huge chasing tackle which forces Issac Luke back in goal.

He protests he had the ball out of there, but the referees believe (and video replay confirms) it was planted on the try line.

Manly again.

A Warriors handling error gifts Manly the football within striking distance. They are 10 metres out from the line after two tackles. 

Hugely important tackle from marker by Issac Luke knocks the ball loose, snubbing out the danger.

He knew the dummy-half run was coming and dived in the tackle, with a play at the arms.

Trbojevic is always thinking about mustering up some metres on the kick return. 

Manly have got extra distance to make up as they run (and kick) into a significant breeze, while the Warriors earn extra space themselves.

He racks up a valuable ten or so after evading a couple of kick chasers. Shaun Johnson is the man forced to stop him after putting the kick itself in.

The Warriors strike back almost instantly.

A big loop of a kick goes deep into the right corner. Fusitua gets right up there with it - he's having a crack. He gathers in the air and pops it down to Ayshford, who's on his left in support.

Try under the posts. Try time.

What a fantastic effort from Tom Trbojevic! He's been released through the line from an offload.

He's so quick and as a result has no real support, cutting inside instead. He's met by what appeared to be a great tackle from his opposite, Tuivasa-Sheck, but wriggles free.

Drifting across he spots a bit of a overlap.

He then kicks to the corner, with two extra men onside. Dylan Walker collects the football on the first bounce and plants it. 

Shanked off the tee into the wind, but you won't blame him.

Manly look much refreshed in the early stages of this second half and they've earned a penalty less than 10 metres away from their opposition's try line.

The Sea Eagles will elect to get some points while they're on offer rather than gamble and keep the pressure on.

They'll take the lead here through the boot of Matthew Wright, straight in front.

Manly kick off into the breeze and almost get it back! 

Tuivasa-Sheck had a big play at it and it ends up being knocked forward by a Manly chaser. You could argue that it would have had to be knocked on by the fullback first, but either way it will be a Warriors scrum.

It evens out in the end - Manly earn their own scrum shortly thereafter from a Warriors error during an offload attempt.

New Zealand had one final shot there as they went through the hands to the right. They lose the ball but it's been touched by a Manly player, I assume, as they've been given six more.

The siren approaches... and Luke drops it. That'll be the half.

The Warriors look the stronger side but they can't be separated on the scoreboard so far.

Warriors earn another repeat set. Manly need to lift here if they want to ensure their season is kept alive. 

Solomone Katea almost managed to bowl over the try line himself there, but in the end the set comes down to a Johnson cross-field kick.

It's collected by a Warrior but he's a few metres short. Manly escape this one.
