Hunter is an American police television drama created by Frank Lupo, which ran on NBC from 1984 to 1991. It starred Fred Dryer as Sgt. Rick Hunter and Stepfanie Kramer as Sgt. Dee Dee McCall. The titular character, Sgt. Rick Hunter, was a wily, physically imposing, often rule-breaking homicide detective with the Los Angeles Police Department. The show's main characters, Hunter and McCall, resolved many of their cases by lethal force, but no more so than many other related television dramas.
The show's executive producer during the first season was Stephen J. Cannell, whose company produced the series. Stepfanie Kramer left after the sixth season (1990) to pursue other acting and musical opportunities. In the seventh season, Hunter partnered with two different women officers.
The show was initially broadcast in a time slot on Friday night, competing for ratings against the popular Dallas. The show struggled to attract an audience and drew criticism for its often graphic depiction of violence. In the first season, the producers sought to create a hook by giving the main character a catchphrase, "Works for me", which was sometimes used two or three times in an episode and was even added to the end of Mike Post and Pete Carpenter's opening theme music. Several early episodes featured montages set to popular songs from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, in a style similar to Miami Vice.

Two things occur. 1) The boy comes home from camping with his parents and notices strange footage that was recorded in his camera. Footage that suggests encounters with extraterrestrial life. 2) A bully appears at his school out of nowhere, terrorizing his friends and teachers. This boy claims he is a Christian and thus cannot be converted. The boy, for the first time, faces a person he cannot convert. 'The Sibling' follows the boy's journey as these two events dovetail to a terrifying conclusion about the boy's faith, deeply unforeseen.

His friend, Jignesh Patel, works as a Security Guard in a mall and is the guardian of Veer, his late sister's son, and under close scrutiny of the Social Services Department. Global recession takes a toll on Nikhil - he not only loses his job but also his investments, while Jignesh gets fired for failing to prevent theft by a minor. Nikhil is unable to find employment and after Jignesh gets fired from yet another job, the duo end up working as male escorts with 'Desi Boyz' as Rocco and Hunter, and bring in enough income to keep them going. Radhika soon finds out and dumps Nikhil, while a Social Worker, Vikrant Mehra, takes custody of Veer and has him placed in a foster home. With their lives turned upside down, the duo blame each other and part company. Unable to even speak with Radhika, Nikhil is dismayed when he finds her in the company of a new boyfriend, Ajay Bapat. With the adverse publicity generated by their involvement as male escorts - and the recession holding strong - what will the duo do in a country where people, including educationists, racially profile ethnic minorities with impunity.

Someone - I forgot who (sorry!) - had requested this episode to be uploaded. So, again, being the holidays, I'm doing so. This again comes from the German edition of S1, Part 2 (as seasons are sold in half sets) with the original music as aired. If you have a region-free DVD player, it can be bought on Amazon.de. Enjoy!
I figured I might as well go back to the very beginning here. Featuring Joanna Kerns, who would be the mom, Maggie Seaver, on the sitcom "Growing Pains" a year later, and Brian Dennehy. Notice Captain Kane was played by a different actor here than in the rest of his time on the show. Of note, "Bad Moon Rising" the song is used, but it is a cover. The other popular song I spied is a country song, "Stranger In My House". But as country music isn't my thing, I don't know if it's the original artist or also a cover. That said, popular songs are used, leading me to believe these are the original songs used versus the US version. This is from the German S1 half set, which can be bought on Amazon.de. Enjoy!
I'm not ignoring requests for other S1 episodes; I just felt like changing things up a bit. This is actually the Season 4 finale and is actually a DVD set from the US [since later seasons didn't make as much use of popular music as the early seasons did that I recall; maybe someday I'll double dip to compare...] Seeing the later stuff back to back with S1, it's something how the series got a bit darker...
As taken from the German DVD half set for Hunter Season 1, Part 2 with music intact from its original broadcast. (Of note, "Every Breath You Take" here was indeed a cover and not by The Police, and it was not switched out. Must have been too expensive even in first run, being so popular at the time of this episode!) These sets can be purchased at Amazon.de if you have a region-free DVD player.
From the unedited German DVD set, Season 1, Part 2. (The series comes in half sets for individual seasons and now has its own complete series, Region 2. If you are in the US as I am and have a multi-region DVD player, you can purchase these sets at the German Amazon branch, Amazon.de.) As broadcast with no music substitutions. The US sets have had all the original music stripped and replaced.
From the unedited German DVD set, taken from S1, Part 2. As broadcast. If you're in the US but with a multi-region DVD player, you may purchase the seasons in half sets or as a complete series at Amazon.de.
There's a stranger in town called the Hunter wild and reckless lovin' is his game
He'll whisper lies and lure you to his pitfall and leave you trapped in your own shame
The Hunter's always looking in the shadows waiting to pounce upon his prey
Sould you give him more than a passing glance
He'll haunt you down and steal your heart away
Pay no attention to his silver tongue be careful of his dashing manner
Just keep your arms around the one you love and beware of the Hunter
[ guitar ]
The Hunter knows a woman is a woman and each of you will have your time and place
He'll track you one by one until you're fallin'
And leave you there with mud upon your face
Pay no attention...
Ah don't be trapped by the Hunter
