Shadows of the Past

Shadows of the Past is the debut album by the Finnish metal band Sentenced. It was released in 1991 and re-issued by Century Media in 1995, including the "Journey To Pohjola" demo. It was re-issued again in 2001 with "North From Here" and again in 2008 as a 2-CD set along with their first two demos. The album features more prominent death metal elements than would be present later in their career. On the introduction speech of North from Here 2008 re-release Jarva states that at the time of Shadows of the Past the band was just a "Death clone" amongst others, so the band chose to pursue a more technical and personal-sounding direction on their second album.

The album has had three different covers: the original release drawn by Luxi Lahtinen, the Century Media 1995 reissue drawn by Taneli Jarva, and the 2008 reissue which is a reproduction of a medieval woodcut print. This version also includes an insert featuring the first two covers.

La sombra del pasado

La sombra del pasado (English title: Shadows of the Past), is a Mexican telenovela, produced by MaPat López de Zatarain for Televisa. It is a remake of the telenovela written by José Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Víctor Manuel Medina Cervantes El manantial in 2001.

Michelle Renaud and Pablo Lyle stars as the protagonists, while Alexis Ayala and Alejandra Barros stars as the antagonists. There is a special participation of Susana González and René Strickler, with Alfredo Adame, Manuel "Flaco" Ibáñez and first actress Cynthia Klitbo.

Production of La sombra del pasado officially started on August 18, 2014.

Plot

Two very different families live in the village of Santa Lucía who are involved in a whirlwind of passion, pain, and revenge. The rivaling families are the Mendozas and the Alcocers.

Severiano Mendoza and Candela Rivero are a rich and powerful people who live at the ranch "Las Ánimas", along with their young son Cristóbal. Roberta and Raymundo Alcocer also have a daughter named Aldonza; however, they do not live with the same luxuries as the Mendoza family, which causes frustration and resentment in Roberta as nothing is enough to fill the inferiority complex that follows her like a shadow.

Shadows of the Past is a Canadian suspense thriller TV film, released in 1991, starring Nicholas Campbell, and Erika Anderson. The film was directed by Gabriel Pelletier.

Plot

After a mysterious car accident, photo journalist Jackie Delaney (Erika Anderson) wakes up in the hospital with amnesia. Haunted by flashbacks of the accident, she checks out of the hospital determined to unravel the mystery behind her recent past. Who was in the car with her, and who is following her now? After an attempt on her life, Jackie is assigned police protection and detective Sean MacFern (Nicholas Campbell) enters her life. Together, they will solve a mystery that goes beyond a mere accident and that enters the shady world of internationals arms smuggling.

Past

The Past (song)

"The Past" is the second single from the Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow album produced by the American heavy metal band Sevendust. This power ballad, with lead vocals from Lajon Witherspoon and featuring guest vocals by lead vocalist of the band Daughtry, Chris Daughtry, is a bit of a departure for the band, falling more into the post-grunge category than what fans have come to expect from Sevendust. "Sorrow", another song found on Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow, is similar in tone and also contains guest vocals, this time by Myles Kennedy. Sevendust has not yet created a music video for "The Past".

Controversy

Florida TV station WFTV-Channel 9 reported that Sevendust's song "The Past" was played repeatedly by Casey Anthony, who has been charged with first-degree murder in the disappearance of her daughter, Caylee while she was out on bond. The track carries this lyric: "Beneath the water that's falling from my eyes, Lays a soul I've left behind." The song was also apparently a topic of discussion on "Nancy Grace", a nightly current affairs show on CNN's Headline News hosted by Nancy Ann Grace, an American legal commentator, television host, and former prosecutor.
