Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas. Man Confronts Columbia Police Officer Who Planted Drugs On Him (Raw Footage)
Lawrence Lawhorn believes two police officers planted narcotics on him during a previous arrest. Columbia Police Officers Chris Papineau and Ryan Terranova Arrested him for allegedly possessing methamphetamine. After spotting Officer Papineau conducting a traffic stop in central Columbia, Lawrence decided it was time to confront him. Lawhorn says that Officer Papineau unnecessarily escalated the confrontation by pointing his finger in his face, and that Internal Affairs found he had violated department policy by engaging in this behavior. The department claims that because the IA investigation was sparked by an anonymous caller who saw the video on Lawhorn’s facebook, the results are a closed record. Lawhorn believes the department is worried about the public backlash and are hiding behind exemptions to the Missouri Sunshine Law (which governs open records) out of fear. Throughout the video Lawhorn presents evidence he believes implicates the two officers in the crime. While Officer Papineau repeatedly to denies that he was involved in planting the drugs, and even directly accuses Lawhorn of planting it, this position would soon change. Internal Affairs Sgt. Brian Tate would inform Lawhorn that several meetings had taken place surrounding the incident, and that these meetings included Columbia Police Chief Ken Burton and members of the department’s command staff. Soon after these meetings Officers Papineau and Terranova went to the Boone County Prosecutor's Office, stating they believed that the vehicle had not been searched properly prior to the arrest. Internal Affairs Sgt. Brian Tate would tell Lawhorn that he wholeheartedly believed in his innocence, but refused to indicate if any follow would be done to determine the source of the methamphetamine. An Internal Affairs investigation into the incident sustained charges of failing to properly search a patrol vehicle prior to transporting a prisoner against both officers. They were cleared on all other charges. Although many people would be happy to see criminal charges against them dismissed, Lawhorn was disappointing. Lawhorn had offered to take lie detector tests coordinated by the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office, as well as submit to DNA and fingerprint analysis on the bag the narcotics were contained in. He was looking forward to proving his innocence in a court of law, as well as proving the allegations he was leveling at the officers. Lawhorn believes the department feared what might have happened had he been granted his day in court. He also believes they have conducted absolutely no follow up into the source of the narcotics, as they are fully aware where they came from. Chris Papineau was removed from his position as a Street Crimes Detective and sent to the Patrol Division. This isn't Chris Papineau's first time in the public spotlight. ** (Disclaimer: Video posted strictly for educational and information purposes only) ** For the first time, a Fort Worth police officer who survived being hit by a car is talking about the close call. We're also getting our first look at the dash camera video that shows the moment of impact. The collision happened on Interstate 30 near Oakland Boulevard. Officer Matthew Lesell pulled someone over on the shoulder, and, instead of slowing down and moving over a lane, a passing vehicle slammed into his squad car, then into his body. "It was July 7th, around three in the morning," Lessell recalled. He had pulled someone over for a traffic stop and got out to approach the car. "Next thing I knew is I was flying through the air," Lesell said. "It felt like I was spinning through a washing machine." The driver of the vehicle that hit Lesell was suspected of driving while intoxicated. The impact sent the officer's body into the middle of I-30. "And then telling myself, 'Hey, you're in the middle of the road. You need to get out of the road,'" he said. He managed to run off the highway just as more cars started zipping by. "From all my training, whether it be the Marine Corps, or through the academy, the worst thing to do is be down and out of the fight," Lesell said. In fact, Lesell went back out to hold the driver who hit him, until his backup arrived. "My assist was like, 'Dude, come sit down, take a deep breath,'" he said. His wife, Danielle Lesell, needed the same advice. "I burst into tears and I literally felt like somebody was squeezing my heart," she said. She's a trauma nurse and knows how much worse this could have been. "I think about it every time he walks out the door," Danielle Lesell said. "But I can't stop him from doing that. This is what he loves to do." And as soon as a hyper-extended foot and a fractured vertebrae are healed, it's what he'll return to. "I go out with just a mission and a goal just to prevent that from happening to someone else's family," Matthew Lesell said. "Take your foot off the gas, slow down, move away from that area, and you'll prevent a lot of accidents, injuries and tragedies from happening." Just Wednesday morning, a convoy of tow trucks and emergency vehicles drove through Fort Worth on a cross-country tour. They're drawing attention to the hundreds of roadside workers injured and killed every year and reminding us to slow down and move over. He did not answer. we asked a ranking officer is that policy? The LT. quickly went about fixing his attitude. This is a common practice among cops at occupy's around the US .That way he/she cannot be named or referenced if he/she participates in police misconduct . Its in most police departments policies that all officers in uniform must show some form of identification. OPD does not wear badges with #'s, how do we hold anyone accountable? Plot: Edge is the story of Edward 'Edge' Jones (Edge), a man with no memory of the event in the Persian Gulf war that left him physically scarred and lost in a civilian world that offers him no direction. From the past comes Lennox, a fellow soldier from the war, who invites him to go on a road trip with the promise of regaining the adventure and camaraderie they knew in the military. Edge is captured in the attraction of regaining his identity as a soldier and agrees to go, unaware of Lennox's all-consuming need for the powers of a warrior in battle. In the beginning, the trip re-awakens Edge's spirit, but gradually his memory returns as well, and as the events of the past become more horribly clear, so does Lennox's 'mission' become evident, and Edge finds himself in a nightmarish world of betrayal, both past and present. On a parallel road trip, a young girl, Berry, leads her mother on a quest to photograph UFO's, presumably for initiation into a society of witnesses. True motives involving the denial of her father's death, however, push below the surface of Berry's mission. Moving deeper into open country, the mother struggling to understand her daughter's feelings, the two women unknowingly get closer to the point where their own journey will converge with that of Edge and Lennox.
