Contender for single of the year. Yes it reminds me of The Stokes and The Walkmen but SKATERS don't have a the in front of their name and it's a bit more 2014 rather than 2003. I'm talking a whole lot of rubbish here right now so just listen to the song.
Fine Times have had one hell of a busy year. The Vancouver indie rockers have played many places over 2013 including festivals in Germany, Austin, New York as well as some killer shows in Vancouver and Toronto. As their debut album seems to be winding down, the band have posted an excellent and amusing new video for the semi-official final single from it. Hope you're in the mood for some dirty dancing!
TOY have got to be my favourite British band in years! I recently saw them live in Austin twice and they completely ripped my head off. Songs taken from last years self titled debut have benefited greatly from being hammered out night after night on the road, taking their psychedelic shoegaze vibe to sonic new heights. For fans of Stereolab, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus And Mary Chain, The Velvet Underground, CAN, Ride, and you get the idea!

Great post punk out of Vancouver. The Population Drops fall somewhere between Sonic Youth and Mecca Normal and then pick it up off the floor, or maybe not at all. You decide. I saw them live and it was a great set for a band that has thus far only played a handful of dates. Looking forward to more TPD in 2013.
Besides the Tanlines album, Mixed Emotions, 2012 in my eyes belonged to Haim. Forever was the song of the year and I know these ladies are gonna own 2013 as well when their full length drops.
Brand new remix of Fine Times' first single, Hey Judas has surfaced thanks to Vancouver's, The Passenger. Really love how he's taken the 3/4 time and turned it more into a 4/4 timed groove. You should check it out and become a fan of Fine Times over on Facebook. You like Misty. You like Sloan. Then what could be better than a Sloan cover by Misty? Maybe a Misty cover by Sloan. They have performed together before, so it's not totally out of the question. It could happen. I believe this recording precedes the last bunch of stuff I posted by her. It's really different from the original version. Check it out!

Of course by now everyone's heard about The Stone Roses show in Amsterdam. Very excited to hear about tonight's show in Sweden. I mean, come on, things are going to go ahead as planned and pretty much confirmed that everything is just peachy according to a post by John Robb
this morning. He has also coined the instantly legendary term, Renigate, in regards to this whole incident. Thank the lord the Roses are back. From the footage I've watched it's just brilliant. You know Brown is never gonna sing great live but the vibe is there and the band is smoking. Some of the stuff Reni is doing is unbelievable. One of the absolute greatest of all time.
