Supporting survivors of conflict in South Sudan

Millions of people are facing hunger and acute food insecurity as a result of on-going conflict. Oxfam is responding to immediate humanitarian needs as well as long term recovery.

Hope and resilience

Whether its conflict, flooding or drought, women are going to extreme lengths just to survive. Most have fled impossible situations in their own countries or villages. In refugee camps, they often face the additional threat of disease, hunger and violence.
Sylvie and her family fled fighting and have lived in the Buporo camp for two years. Sylvie is a member of Oxfam's WASH committee and gets water for her family from a tap stand installed by Oxfam.
