Australian Government agencies require legal services for a range of different reasons.

Most Commonwealth agencies are required to report to the Office of Legal Services Coordination (OLSC) about their legal services expenditure within sixty days after the end of the financial year.

The Legal Services Expenditure Report template can be found on the OLSC Compliance and Reporting page.

This information is compiled into annual reports on Commonwealth legal services expenditure.

The reports:

  • provide an overview of legal services expenditure across the Commonwealth from 2009–2010 to 2015–2016
  • identify and report on trends, patterns and changes in Commonwealth legal services expenditure.
