Ashok Kumar (13 October 1911 - 10 December 2001), born Kumudlal Ganguly in Bhagalpur, Bengal attained iconic status in Indian cinema.
The Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1988 and the Padma Bhushan in 1998 for his contributions towards Indian cinema.
Ashok Kumar who was respectfully called 'Dadamoni', started his carrer with Bombay Talkies production 'Jeevan Naiya' in 1936. Later, Devika Rani and Ashok Kumar did a string of films like Izzat (1937), Savitri (1937) and Nirmala (1938). He acquitted himself creditably and came away with several hits including most famously Main Ban ka Panchhi. He acted in fewer films in the 1980s and 1990s and occasionally appeared on television, most famously anchoring the first Indian soap opera Hum Log and appearing as the title character in the unforgettable Bahadur Shah Zafar.
Ashok Kumar's last film role was in Aankhon Mein Tum Ho in 1997. Besides acting, he was an avid painter and a practitioner of homeopathy. Altogether, he starred in over 275 films and has done more than 30 Bengali dramas.

Born and brought up in a small village, Kurana, of district Panipat in Haryana. He received his primary education from the village Government school and went on to do B.Tech & M.Tech from IIT Delhi.
He joined the IPS in 1989 & served in various challenging assignments in the state of UP & Uttarakhand. He was instrumental in eliminating Terrorism from Tarai Region of Kumaun.
Presently he is posted as ADG of Police Administration. He held the portfolio of IG Garhwal & IG Kumaun where he worked towards humane & victim oriented policing. He also worked as chief of Intelligence & Security Uttarakhand & Director Vigilance Uttarakhand where he started a major drive against corruption. He has also served with CRPF & BSF as IG on deputation basis where he faced Naxal challenge & managed Indo-Pakistan border on crucial Punjab frontier.
He received the UN Medal for serving in a strife from Kosovo in 2001. He was awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious services in Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2013. He has been awarded the prestigious "Outstanding Contribution to National Development" by IIT Delhi Alumni. He has been a Senate member of IIT Delhi for 3 years.
He is the author of the famous book 'Human in Khaki' (खाकी में इंसान) - The Book has been translated into Bengali, Gujarati & Marathi also. The Book has been awarded 'Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant' Award by Bureau of Police research & Development, MHA.
He has also authored three other books titled "Challenges to Internal Security of India", " Cracking Civil Services The Open Secret" and "Ethics For Civil Services."
His other interests include Badminton, Tennis, Riding and organising sports events. He is also the President of Uttarakhand State Badminton Association.
The IPS was formed in the year 1948. The cadre controlling authority for the IPS is the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Indian Police Service examination is a part of the Civil Services Examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission each year. An IPS (Indian Police Service) officer carries out his/her responsibilities by safeguarding public. The IPS gives more importance to law and order, which, at the district level, is a collective responsibility of IPS and IAS officers; detecting and preventing crime; and traffic control and accident prevention and management.

Ashok Kumar
Ashok Kumar (13 October 1911 – 10 December 2001), born Kumudlal Ganguly and also fondly called Dadamoni, was an Indian film actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema. He was honoured in 1988 with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest national award for cinema artists, by the Government of India and also received the Padma Bhushan in 1999 for his contributions to Indian cinema. He is considered to be one of India's finest ever actors, playing leading, negative and character roles with equal panache.
Family
Ashok Kumar was born Kumudlal Ganguly in Bhagalpur, then in the Bengal Presidency and now lying in Bihar. His father, Kunjlal Ganguly, was a lawyer while his mother, Gouri Devi, was a home-maker. Kumudlal (as he was then known) was the eldest of four children. A couple of years younger to him was his only sister, Sati Devi, who was married at a very young age to Sashadhar Mukherjee and became the matriarch of a large "film family". More than fourteen years younger than Kumudlal was his next brother, Kalyan (b.1926), who later took the screen name Anoop Kumar, and youngest of all was Abhas (b.1929), whose screen name was Kishore Kumar and who became a phenomenally successful playback singer of Hindi films. Although the eldest of the three brothers by several years, Ashok Kumar outlived his siblings. In fact, he stopped celebrating his birthday after his youngest brother, Kishore, died on that very day (Ashok's birthday) in 1987.

Plot: A wealthy businessman, Jamunadas, is killed by person(s) unknown. The police take up this investigation and are clearly baffled as the killer has left no clues for them to go on. Then several days later, Ashok returns home and he is not the same loving husband and father anymore. He decides to sell the business, has nothing to do with Munna and Laxmi, and asks them to take some money, while he returns to Bombay. Laxmi and Munna follow him to Bombay, but are unable to locate him. They are befriended by a petty thief and pickpocket by the name of Raja, who lives with a young street dancer named Rani and her dad, Baba. When Baba finds out that Laxmi may be related to Raja and that Munna may be their child, he asks them to leave the house. Raja then takes them to Ashok, and to Laxmi's shock she finds her once-loving husband living with another woman, much younger and prettier, by the name of Sangita. Watch what happens when Sangita asks Laxmi to be the maidservant, and Ashok refuses to recognize his wife and child.

Ashok Kumar - Biography
Ashok Kumar (13 October 1911 - 10 December 2001), born Kumudlal Ganguly in Bhagalpur, Bengal attained iconic status in Indian cinema. The Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1988 and the Padma Bhushan in 1998 for his contributions towards Indian cinema. Ashok Kumar who was respectfully called 'Dadamoni', started his carrer with Bombay Talkies production 'Jeevan Naiya' in 1936. Later, Devika Rani and Ashok Kumar did a string of films like Izzat (1937), Savitri (1937) and Nirmala (1938). He acquitted himself creditably and came away with several hits including most famously Main Ban ka Panchhi. He acted in fewer films in the 1980s and 1990s and occasionally appeared on television, most famously anchoring the first Indian soap opera Hum Log and appearing as...

Ashok Kumar (13 October 1911 - 10 December 2001), born Kumudlal Ganguly in Bhagalpur, Bengal attained iconic status in Indian cinema.
The Government of India honoured him with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1988 and the Padma Bhushan in 1998 for his contributions towards Indian cinema.
Ashok Kumar who was respectfully called 'Dadamoni', started his carrer with Bombay Talkies production 'Jeevan Naiya' in 1936. Later, Devika Rani and Ashok Kumar did a string of films like Izzat (1937), Savitri (1937) and Nirmala (1938). He acquitted himself creditably and came away with several hits including most famously Main Ban ka Panchhi. He acted in fewer films in the 1980s and 1990s and occasionally appeared on television, most famously anchoring the first Indian soap opera Hum Log and appearing as the title character in the unforgettable Bahadur Shah Zafar.
Ashok Kumar's last film role was in Aankhon Mein Tum Ho in 1997. Besides acting, he was an avid painter and a practitioner of homeopathy. Altogether, he starred in over 275 films and has done more than 30 Bengali dramas.

Born and brought up in a small village, Kurana, of district Panipat in Haryana. He received his primary education from the village Government school and went on to do B.Tech & M.Tech from IIT Delhi.
He joined the IPS in 1989 & served in various challenging assignments in the state of UP & Uttarakhand. He was instrumental in eliminating Terrorism from Tarai Region of Kumaun.
Presently he is posted as ADG of Police Administration. He held the portfolio of IG Garhwal & IG Kumaun where he worked towards humane & victim oriented policing. He also worked as chief of Intelligence & Security Uttarakhand & Director Vigilance Uttarakhand where he started a major drive against corruption. He has also served with CRPF & BSF as IG on deputation basis where he faced Naxal challenge & managed Indo-Pakistan border on crucial Punjab frontier.
He received the UN Medal for serving in a strife from Kosovo in 2001. He was awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious services in Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2013. He has been awarded the prestigious "Outstanding Contribution to National Development" by IIT Delhi Alumni. He has been a Senate member of IIT Delhi for 3 years.
He is the author of the famous book 'Human in Khaki' (खाकी में इंसान) - The Book has been translated into Bengali, Gujarati & Marathi also. The Book has been awarded 'Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant' Award by Bureau of Police research & Development, MHA.
He has also authored three other books titled "Challenges to Internal Security of India", " Cracking Civil Services The Open Secret" and "Ethics For Civil Services."
His other interests include Badminton, Tennis, Riding and organising sports events. He is also the President of Uttarakhand State Badminton Association.
The IPS was formed in the year 1948. The cadre controlling authority for the IPS is the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Indian Police Service examination is a part of the Civil Services Examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission each year. An IPS (Indian Police Service) officer carries out his/her responsibilities by safeguarding public. The IPS gives more importance to law and order, which, at the district level, is a collective responsibility of IPS and IAS officers; detecting and preventing crime; and traffic control and accident prevention and management.

He has also served with CRPF & BSF as IG on deputation basis where he faced Naxal challenge & managed Indo-Pakistan border on crucial Punjab frontier.
He received the UN Medal for serving in a strife from Kosovo in 2001. He was awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious services in Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2013. He has been awarded the prestigious "Outstanding Contribution to National Development" by IIT Delhi Alumni. He has been a Senate member of IIT Delhi for 3 years.
He is the author of the famous book 'Human in Khaki' (खाकी में इंसान) - The Book has been translated into Bengali, Gujarati & Marathi also. The Book has been awarded 'Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant' Award by Bureau of Police research & Development, MHA.
He has also authored three other books titled "Challenges to Internal Security of India", " Cracking Civil Services The Open Secret" and "Ethics For Civil Services."
His other interests include Badminton, Tennis, Riding and organising sports events. He is also the President of Uttarakhand State Badminton Association.
The IPS was formed in the year 1948. The cadre controlling authority for the IPS is the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Indian Police Service examination is a part of the Civil Services Examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission each year. An IPS (Indian Police Service) officer carries out his/her responsibilities by safeguarding public. The IPS gives more importance to law and order, which, at the district level, is a collective responsibility of IPS and IAS officers; detecting and preventing crime; and traffic control and accident prevention and management.

He has been awarded the prestigious "Outstanding Contribution to National Development" by IIT Delhi Alumni. He has been a Senate member of IIT Delhi for 3 years.
He is the author of the famous book 'Human in Khaki' (खाकी में इंसान) - The Book has been translated into Bengali, Gujarati & Marathi also. The Book has been awarded 'Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant' Award by Bureau of Police research & Development, MHA.
He has also authored three other books titled "Challenges to Internal Security of India", " Cracking Civil Services The Open Secret" and "Ethics For Civil Services."
His other interests include Badminton, Tennis, Riding and organising sports events. He is also the President of Uttarakhand State Badminton Association.
The IPS was formed in the year 1948. The cadre controlling authority for the IPS is the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Indian Police Service examination is a part of the Civil Services Examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission each year. An IPS (Indian Police Service) officer carries out his/her responsibilities by safeguarding public. The IPS gives more importance to law and order, which, at the district level, is a collective responsibility of IPS and IAS officers; detecting and preventing crime; and traffic control and accident prevention and management.

Synoposis: Reeta Mehra (Sadhana Shivdasani) lives a poor life style along with her sick mother. She works in a small setup, part of the franchise owned by Sohanlal (Rehman). One day her boss tries to send her to a businessman to entertain him but she rejects. Because of that he becomes angry and tells Sohanlal against her. Sohanlal manages to send her to one year of jail on charges of stealing jewelry from his shop.
By the time she comes out of jail her mother dies and she pledges to take revenge on Sohanlal. On the other hand, Heeralal Mehra (Ashok Kumar), who was escaped the arrest one year back with the help of Reeta comes searching for her. They retrieve the box he had given her previously to safeguard. To Reeta's surprise it contains valuable jewels. He tells her his story and how he was cheated by Sohanlal. About twenty years back, having no other way, Heeralal gets arrested saving Sohanlal and Sohanlal promises him that he would take care of Heeralal's family. But when Heeralal returns, he finds out that Sohanlal used money just for himself and wouldn't know what happened to his family.
Now both Reeta and Heeralal form a pact to take revenge on Sohanlal. They use Rajpal (Sanjay Khan), Sohanlal's only son for that purpose. Rajpal was an innocent, playful young man who falls easily for Reeta and deeply loves her. He marries her against the wishes of his father. Later he comes to know that Reeta just wanted to use him, but he still loves her and asks her to forget everything. But Reeta and Heeralal disagree with him and leave no opportunity to embarrass Sohanlal in public.
After some time people start to talk about Sohanlal because of the behavior of his daughter-in-law. Annoyed and embarrassed Sohanlal arranges for Reeta's murder. Heeralal kills a criminal to save Reeta but Rajpal thinks that Reeta killed him and surrenders himself as murderer. Heeralal wouldn't tell the truth as he was waiting for Sohanlal to suffer. Reeta realizes her love for Rajpal and feels bad that things came to this extent. At that time Sohanlal sees a picture of Reeta's mother and recognizes her as Heeralal's wife. Heeralal at last comes to know that Reeta was no one but his daughter and he surrenders himself to police to save Rajpal. He gets acquitted as he killed just to save an innocent person's life but get one-year sentence for his previous crimes. Everybody forget the past and reconcile.

Ashok Kumar (13 October 1911 – 10 December 2001), born Kumudlal Ganguly and also fondly called Dadamoni, was an Indian film actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema. He was honoured in 1988 with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest national award for cinema artists, by the Government of India and also received the Padma Bhushan in 1999 for his contributions to Indian cinema. Ashok Kumar (13 October 1911 – 10 December 2001), born Kumudlal Ganguly and also fondly called Dadamoni, was an Indian film actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema. He was honoured in 1988 with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest national award for cinema artists, by the Government of India and also received the Padma Bhushan in 1999 for his contributions to Indian cinema. He is considered to be one of India's finest ever actors, playing leading, negative and character roles with equal panache.
