Gothic is a 1986 British horror film directed by Ken Russell, starring Gabriel Byrne as Lord Byron, Julian Sands as Percy Bysshe Shelley, Natasha Richardson as Mary Shelley, Myriam Cyr as Claire Clairmont (Mary Shelley's stepsister) and Timothy Spall as Dr. John William Polidori. It features a soundtrack by Thomas Dolby, and marks Richardson's film debut.
The film is a fictionalized retelling of the Shelleys' visit to Lord Byron in Villa Diodati by Lake Geneva, shot in Gaddesden Place. It concerns their competition to write a horror story, which ultimately led to Mary Shelley writing Frankenstein and John Polidori writing The Vampyre. The same event has also been portrayed in the films Bride of Frankenstein (1935) and Haunted Summer (1988), among others.
The film's poster motif is based on Henry Fuseli's painting The Nightmare, which is also referenced in the film.
Through her stepsister Claire Clairmont (Miriam Cyr), Mary Godwin (Natasha Richardson) and her future husband Percy Shelley (Julian Sands) came to know Lord Byron (Gabriel Byrne). During the summer of 1816, Lord Byron invited them to stay for a while at Villa Diodati in Switzerland. There they met Byron's physician friend, Dr. John Polidori (Timothy Spall). On June 16th, while a storm raged outside, the five of them amused themselves by telling ghost stories and revealing private skeletons. From Mary's previous experience of miscarriage came the desire to raise her child from the dead, which led to the creation of the Frankenstein monster. From Polidori's homosexuality, suicidal thoughts, and fascination with vampires came the story "The Vampyre".

Plot: News quickly spreads of the murder of a Romany family in a Hungarian village. The perpetrators have escaped and nobody claims to know who might have committed the crime. For another Romany family living close by, the murder only serves to confirm their latent, carefully repressed fears. Far away in Canada the head of the family decides that his wife, children and their grandfather must join him as soon as possible. Living in fear of the racist terror that surrounds them and feeling abandoned by the silent majority, the family tries to get through the day after the attack. By nightfall when darkness descends on the village the family pushes the beds closer together than usual. Yet their hope of escaping the madness proves illusory. Based on an actual series of killings in Hungary that claimed the lives of eight people in less than a year, Bence Fliegauf portrays the pogrom-like atmosphere which breeds such violence. The camera stays hot on the heels of the protagonists, making the breathless escalation of events physically palpable.

Plot: An American art appraiser, Patrick Donovan, is sent to Venice to evaluate three paintings belonging to the famous Galleria dell'Accademia. The company that insures the paintings has hired Donovan's employer, the International Center for Art Authentication, to verify that two Bellini canvases as well as the crown jewel of the museum's collection - Giorgione's 'La Tempesta' - are originals. Donovan contacts Allart van Beuningen, the director of the Accademia Museum, examines the two Bellinis and confirms that they are authentic. But before he can check 'La Tempesta', with floodwaters rising and the Galleria closed to the public, the painting is stolen by assailants who attack Donovan and Van Beuningen's beautiful adopted daughter, Chiara, a professional art restorer who works at the Museum. When the painting gets stolen, Donovan has to turn into a detective in order to try to track down the thief and recover the canvas. Soon Donovan's investigations reveal a sophisticated forgery operation in which he finds himself deeply involved when he falls under the charm of Chiara, a talented artist with a dark side. Forgery, deceit, murder and betrayal ensue at a hectic pace......

Hello again
Why so old
Wasn't time your friend
I must be told
Hello again
It seems so long
Since we last met
How has it gone
Don't accept the blame
I would
I would not complain
Cause I'm sure it wasn't your own fault
That you never made it out your fall
Just lock the door and find some time to scream
To scream again
Just say when
And you'll stop the pain
Of your life
Bring it to an end
Just say when
And you can make amends
Just say hello
Say hello again
Hello again
It's not that hard
No dead ends
Even with the scares
Don't accept the blame
I would
I would not complain
Cause I'm sure it wasn't your own fault
That you never made it out your fall
Just lock the door
Find some time to scream
Just say when
And you'll stop the pain
Of your life
Bring it to end
Just say when
And you could make amends
Just say hello
Say hello again
You have no home
You've lost your throne
Where has it gone
Well, it could come back
But you're being there
By the walking dead
Stumble as you crack the ground
You'll be down
Just say when
You could stop the pain
Just say when
And you could make amends
Just say hello
Say hello again
(Hello again)
(Hello again)
(Hello again)
(Hello again)
It's not the end if you just say hello again...
