Presented in partnership with SHINE, North Seattle College and the National Science Foundation, this program teaches about nanotechnology and its many uses. Students will also learn about a career in nanotechnology and will get advice directly from SHINE Nano Program graduates.

In partnership with Pike Place Market and 4Culture, “One Market for All” weaves the voices of the Pike Place Market through history, linking the past, present and the future while celebrating the uniqueness of the Market through oral tradition.

Meets Washington State educational standards for Ancient Civilizations and STEM. Students will explore engineering concepts, and the ancient civilization from which the Terracotta Warriors originate.  Students develop higher levels of critical thinking by considering how civilizations developed and why they declined.

This publication commemorates the 75th anniversary of executive order 9066 – which ordered the removal of Japanese Americans from Seattle during World War II. This supplement highlights the seldom told story of the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II to provide students with the opportunity to learn from a challenging time in our country’s history – and to apply lessons learned to issues of today.
