Subscription business model

The subscription business model is a business model where a customer must pay a subscription price to have access to the product/service. The model was pioneered by magazines and newspapers, but is now used by many businesses and websites.

Rather than selling products individually, a subscription sells periodic (monthly or yearly or seasonal) use or access to a product or service, or, in the case of such non-profit organizations as opera companies or symphony orchestras, it sells tickets to the entire run of five to fifteen scheduled performances for an entire season. Thus, a one-time sale of a product can become a recurring sale and can build brand loyalty. It is used for anything where a user is tracked in both a subscribed and unsubscribed status.

Membership fees to some types of organizations, such as trade unions, are also known as subscriptions.

Industries that use this model include mail order book sales clubs and music sales clubs, cable television, satellite television providers with pay-TV channels, satellite radio, telephone companies, cell phone companies, internet providers, software providers, websites (e.g., blogging websites), business solutions providers, financial services firms, fitness clubs, lawn mowing and snowplowing services and pharmaceuticals, as well as the traditional newspapers, magazines and academic journals.

Kiara Advani

Kiara Advani (born Alia Advani; 31 July 1992) is an Indian film actress, who appears in Bollywood films. She made her debut in Grazing Goat Pictures' 2014 comedy drama film, Fugly opposite newcomer Mohit Marwah, Vijender Singh, Arfi Lamba and Jimmy Shergill. The film, which released on 13 June 2014, is directed by Kabir Sadanand and produced by Ashvini Yardi and Alka Bhatia.

Early life and background

Kiara Advani was born (as Alia Advani) on 31 July 1992 to Jagdeep Advani, a businessman, and Geneviève Jaffrey, a teacher. She has a younger brother, Mishaal (born September 1995). Her father is Sindhi while her mother is the daughter of Hameed Jaffrey, a Muslim from Lucknow, and Valerie Salway, who is of Scottish, Irish, Portuguese and Spanish ancestry.

She is the great granddaughter of Ashok Kumar and the great grand niece of Saeed Jaffrey. She is also the niece of model Shaheen Jaffrey and actress Juhi Chawla. Her family is also close to actor Salman Khan, who previously dated her aunt, Shaheen Jaffrey. Khan had guided Advani when she first entered the film industry.

Jayantilal Gada

Jayantilal Gada is an Indian film executive and producer. He is known for producing the 2013 Hindi-language film Mahabharat, which won Best Animation Film at the 3rd Fiji Film Festival.

He founded PEN India (full name, Popular Entertainment Network India and also sometimes written as Pen) in 1987; today the company produces and presents Bollywood films. Gada retired in 2014 at the age of 52. His son is the film and TV producer Dhaval Gada and was announced as his successor at PEN on 3rd November 2014.

Early life and career

Jayantilal Gada is a Kutchi Vagad born in Lakadia, Gujarat. He studied till 10th in Gurukul High School, Ghatkopar. He began working in his father's small grocery store, also taking courses in radio repairing and photography.

Gada started a small video library in a section of his father's store, buying video cassettes from producers for distribution. This sideline grew as he first began hiring out video cassette players, then began filming weddings on video. Later, he moved into wholesaling videos. Popular Video Cassette Library was restructured and renamed PEN in 1992. After financial problems, Gada began moving into acquiring the copyright to films – at this stage he was aged 25.

Nakash Aziz

Nakash Aziz (Bengali: নাকাশ আজিজ, Urdu: نقاش عزیز‎) (born February 24, 1985) is an Indian playback singer and music composer. He has assisted the legendary composer A. R. Rahman on films like Highway, Raanjhanaa, Rockstar, Delhi 6 and I in Hindi. He is popularly known for playback of songs like "Sari Ke Fall Sa" and "Gandi Baat" from the film R... Rajkumar (2013) and "Dhating Nach" from film Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (2013); all picturized on Shahid Kapoor. Nakash is originally from Moodbidri, a small town near Mangalore, Karnataka. He belongs to a family of singers. He worked as music composer for TV serials before becoming a playback singer.
