Gujarat
Gujarat (/ˌɡʊdʒəˈrɑːt/ Gujǎrāt [ˈɡudʒ(ə)ɾaːt]) is a state in the western part of India known locally as Jewel of the Western part of India. It has an area of 196,204 km2 (75,755 sq mi) with a coastline of 1,600 km (990 mi), most of which lies on the Kathiawar peninsula, and a population in excess of 60 million. The state encompasses major sites of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, such as Lothal and Dholavira. Lothal is believed to be one of the world's first seaports. Gujarat's coastal cities, chiefly Bharuch and Khambhat, served as ports and trading centres in the Maurya and Gupta empires, and during the succession of royal Saka dynasties from the Western Satraps era, whose geographic territories included Saurashtra and Malwa: modern Gujarat, South Sindh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh states.

Jaidev Kumar
Jaidev Kumar (Hindi: जयदेव कुमार) is an Indian musician and producer, who was born in Delhi but who moved to Mumbai in 2000. Kumar is the music king for the Punjabi industry. He has been working for Punjabi music industry since 1999. His first album was Dil Lai Gayi. He is the son of music director K Panna Lal.
Early life
When Kumar was 5 or 6 years old, his father died and then his family had no relations with music. After some years his sister married ghazal singer Chandan Dass. Kumar started to play guitar with Dass. He did lots of work for DD1. His first teacher was Chote Lal. He started music in 1986. He also played guitars for hotels. Kumar was an assistant to Charanjit Ahuja.

Jasbir Jassi
Jasbir Jassi (Punjabi: ਜਸਬੀਰ ਜੱਸੀ; born 7 February 1970 in Dalla Mirjanpur Village, Gurdaspur, Punjab, India) is a Punjabi singer and actor. As of 2010 he has released eight albums, his first pop album being Dil Le Gayee, released in 1998.
Biography
As a child, Jassi played the harmonium. He quit engineering to study classical music under V.S. Jolly and later under Puran Shah Koti of the Sufiana fame. Ustad Shaukat Ali Khan and Baba Kashmira Singh also heavily influenced his singing style. He did his schooling at Govt. Comrade Chajju ram High school Paniar. He holds a Masters degree in classical vocal music from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar.
Musical career
Jassi, a first generation musician, participated in many musical plays like "Sadha Bugdu Bulo." He was widely noticed due to the performances he gave for the North Zone Cultural Centre. Jasbir Jassi then started recording for Punjabi films including Passport and Zakhmi in the late 1980s. He also sang for remix albums such as Balle Balbiro Balle. His first album release was the 1993 low-profile Channa Ve Teri Channani. He featured along with Charanjit Ahuja in the music video of "Channa ve Teri Channi". This was followed-up with a string of hit albums – 'Dil Le Gayee'(1998), 'Kudi Kudi'(1999), 'Nishani Pyar Di'(2001), 'Just Jassi'(2002), 'Mukhda Chann Varga'(2004) and 'Akh Mastani'(2007). Jassi - Back with a Bang is his latest album, featuring the songs "Mehndi" and title song "Bang". It was released on 16 July 2010 worldwide.

Six lane of Vadodara-Surat section of NH-8(New NH-48) including construction of a new four lane extradosd bridge across river Narmada in the state of Gujarat. This is the largest extradosed span in India and first extradosed bridge in the state of Gujarat. Total length of the bridge is 1344mt and width is 20.8 m This section used to experience traffic build-up from 30 minutes to 2 hours which will now get fully addressed with the completion of the project, minimizing inconvenience to the road users and shall allow smooth and safe movement of traffic.

This is the largest extradosed span in India and first extradosed bridge in the state of Gujarat. Total length of the bridge is 1344mt and width is 20.8 m
This section used to experience traffic build-up from 30 minutes to 2 hours which will now get fully addressed with the completion of the project, minimizing inconvenience to the road users and shall allow smooth and safe movement of traffic.

Wild Frontiers' Jonny Bealby presents a travel guide to Rajasthan and the north of India.
For Wild Frontiers Rajasthan and the North consists of the north-western states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and the Punjab, with Delhi and Agra thrown in for good measure.
Over half of all first time travellers to India visit Rajasthan and for good reason. With a plethora of magnificent monuments, its vibrant cities and fairy-tale heritage of Rajput palaces -- now converted into some of the most atmospheric hotels anywhere in the world -- Rajasthan is arguably India's most colourful state.
First and foremost there is the Golden Triangle; a natural routing that takes you from Delhi, with its great flight connections, through Agra and the essential Taj Mahal to Jaipur, the states capital and one of the most lively and evocative towns in the whole region. From here you can travel southwest through Pushkar, with its famous camel fair, Jodhpur, the Blue City, and on to Udaipur and the Venice of the East.
Or you could head out on the more remote but every bit as romantic desert routing, heading due west our of Delhi on what was one of the southern branches of the Old Silk Road to take in Bikanir, Nagaur and the most famous of all the desert town, Jailsalmer.
But there's also another way to go, to travel on a slower routing through the Rajasthani countryside, staying at some of the States most romantic rural palaces such as at Ramathra, Bhensrorgarh, Deogarh or Castle Bijaipur -- which is where I am now.
This really is quintessential India; the India of our childhood imagination, a calm quiet land where little of modern India appears, a place that is perfect for walking, cycling, riding or just relaxing.
Further afield there is the very under explored and deeply fascinating state of Gujarat. This is a region of fabulous temples, such as the amazing world heritage site at Palitana -- where I was two years back recceying our new trip to the region.
Gujarat is also home to some extraordinary landscapes and wildlife and some of the most diverse and interesting people in the country. Those of you a that are interested in textiles should make a special effort to come here as they are among the best the country, if not the world, can offer.
And finally another fascinating place to squeeze into this region is Amristsar. Holy city to the Sikhs, it is home to the amazing Golden Temple, the infamous Jahwallah Barg and the peculiar but utterly captivating, closing of the gate ceremony at the border with Pakistan. Which is something that has to be seen to be believed!
As I said at the start, most people coming to India will visit Rajasthan and the North -- and for very good reason. It offers everything the first timer or committed Indophile needs to have an amazing Indian experience.

It is the Jewel of Western India. The state is bordered by Rajasthan to the north, Maharashtra to the south, Madhya Pradesh to the east, and the Arabian Sea and the Pakistani province of Sindh to the west. Its capital city is Gandhinagar, while its largest city is Ahmedabad. Gujarat is home to the Gujarati-speaking people of India.
1) Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary
Gir is the only natural habitat of world popular Asiatic Lions. coupled with thousands of other elusive wild animals and hard-to-find birds like uncommon Asiatic wild ass, hyenas, Gir foxes, pygmy woodpecker, brown fish owl and black buck etc.
2) Akshardham
The complex was built over 13 years and is a tribute to Swaminarayan and his life and teachings.At the center of the 23-acre complex is the Akshardham mandir, which is built from 6,000 metric tons of pink sandstone from Rajasthan. On September 24, 2002, two armed terrorists attacked Akshardham, killing 33 people and wounding 70. The Indian National Security Guard intervened and ended the siege by killing both terrorists. A prayer assembly led by Pramukh Swami was organized on September 29, 2002, with attendees praying for the departed souls and their families and also for communal and sectarian peace.
3) Great Rann Of Kutch
The Great Rann of Kutch is a seasonal salt marsh located in the Thar Desert. It is about 7,505.22 square kilometres in size and is reputed to be one of the largest salt desert in the world.This is one of the hottest areas of India - with summer temperatures averaging and peaking at 49.5 C. Winter temperatures reduce dramatically and can go below 0 °C. The Government of Gujarat hosts an annual 3 month long festival called the Rann Utsav (festival of the Rann), where tourists can see the various sights of the Rann as well as get a taste of the local culture, cuisine and hospitality.
4) Kankaria Lake
It was constructed by Sultan Qutb-ud-Din at Ahmedabad in the year 1451. There is a popular saying that Kankaria lake of Ahmedabad was often visited by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir along with his wife Empress Noor Jahan. It is a great crowd pulling leisure spot. It is good place to hangout with family or friends. Here you get many modes of entertainment like, toy train, hot air balloon etc. Its really more colourful after evening with all its excellent lighting.
5) Laxmi Vilas Palace
The palace is situated in a massive 700 acre of land. The stunning interiors of the palace and the opulent furnishings are awe-inspiring. It is reputed to have been the largest private dwelling built till date and four times the size of Buckingham Palace. At the time of construction it boasted the most modern amenities such as elevators and the interior is reminiscent of a large European country house. It remains the residence of the Royal Family, who continue to be held in high esteem by the residents of Baroda.
6) Somnath
Somnath Temple is known as "the Shrine Eternal". This legendary temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times by Islamic kings and Hindu kings respectively. Most recently it was rebuilt in November 1947, when Vallabhbhai Patel visited the area for the integration of Junagadh and mooted a plan for restoration.The temple is open daily from 6AM to 9PM. There are 3 aarti daily; in the morning at 07:00, at 12:00 and in the evening at 19:00. It is also believed that this is the place where Krishna ended his lila on earth and left for his heavenly abode.
7) Jhulta Minara
The Sidi Bashir Mosque is located in the city of Ahmedaba, due to its unique construction, the mosque is also called Jhulta Minar or Shaking Minarets.The mosque is located opposite the Ahmedabad Railway station and is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Ahmedabad. Entry to the shaking minaret was prohibited following an incident at Qutb Minar in Delhi, where a stampede resulted in many children being crushed.
8) Sabarmati Ashram / Mahatma Gandhi's Home
Timings: 8:30am - 6:00pm
This Ashram was established by Mahatma Gandhi on a quiet stretch of the Sabarmati river in 1917, it is a very calm and soothing place. Gandhi Ashram is the most popular tourist place in the city. It is mostly visited by tourists due to its importance. It was from here, in 1930, that Mahatma began his famous "Dandi March" to the sea to protest against the Salt Tax imposed by the British. The ashram houses a museum, library, auditorium and photo galleries.
9) Dumas Beach
This beach is believed to be one of the most haunted places of India.Apart from the beach, places of interest at Dumas including the Dariya Ganesh Temple located adjacent to the main beach.
10) Rani ki vav
It is an intricately constructed stepwell situated in the town of Patan. It is located on the banks of Saraswati River. Rani ki vav was built as a memorial to an 11th century AD king. It was added to the list of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites on 22 June 2014.

The state is bordered by Rajasthan to the north, Maharashtra to the south, Madhya Pradesh to the east, and the Arabian Sea and the Pakistani province of Sindh to the west. Its capital city is Gandhinagar, while its largest city is Ahmedabad. Gujarat is home to the Gujarati-speaking people of India.
1) Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary
Gir is the only natural habitat of world popular Asiatic Lions. coupled with thousands of other elusive wild animals and hard-to-find birds like uncommon Asiatic wild ass, hyenas, Gir foxes, pygmy woodpecker, brown fish owl and black buck etc.
2) Akshardham
The complex was built over 13 years and is a tribute to Swaminarayan and his life and teachings.At the center of the 23-acre complex is the Akshardham mandir, which is built from 6,000 metric tons of pink sandstone from Rajasthan. On September 24, 2002, two armed terrorists attacked Akshardham, killing 33 people and wounding 70. The Indian National Security Guard intervened and ended the siege by killing both terrorists. A prayer assembly led by Pramukh Swami was organized on September 29, 2002, with attendees praying for the departed souls and their families and also for communal and sectarian peace.
3) Great Rann Of Kutch
The Great Rann of Kutch is a seasonal salt marsh located in the Thar Desert. It is about 7,505.22 square kilometres in size and is reputed to be one of the largest salt desert in the world.This is one of the hottest areas of India - with summer temperatures averaging and peaking at 49.5 C. Winter temperatures reduce dramatically and can go below 0 °C. The Government of Gujarat hosts an annual 3 month long festival called the Rann Utsav (festival of the Rann), where tourists can see the various sights of the Rann as well as get a taste of the local culture, cuisine and hospitality.
4) Kankaria Lake
It was constructed by Sultan Qutb-ud-Din at Ahmedabad in the year 1451. There is a popular saying that Kankaria lake of Ahmedabad was often visited by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir along with his wife Empress Noor Jahan. It is a great crowd pulling leisure spot. It is good place to hangout with family or friends. Here you get many modes of entertainment like, toy train, hot air balloon etc. Its really more colourful after evening with all its excellent lighting.
5) Laxmi Vilas Palace
The palace is situated in a massive 700 acre of land. The stunning interiors of the palace and the opulent furnishings are awe-inspiring. It is reputed to have been the largest private dwelling built till date and four times the size of Buckingham Palace. At the time of construction it boasted the most modern amenities such as elevators and the interior is reminiscent of a large European country house. It remains the residence of the Royal Family, who continue to be held in high esteem by the residents of Baroda.
6) Somnath
Somnath Temple is known as "the Shrine Eternal". This legendary temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times by Islamic kings and Hindu kings respectively. Most recently it was rebuilt in November 1947, when Vallabhbhai Patel visited the area for the integration of Junagadh and mooted a plan for restoration.The temple is open daily from 6AM to 9PM. There are 3 aarti daily; in the morning at 07:00, at 12:00 and in the evening at 19:00. It is also believed that this is the place where Krishna ended his lila on earth and left for his heavenly abode.
7) Jhulta Minara
The Sidi Bashir Mosque is located in the city of Ahmedaba, due to its unique construction, the mosque is also called Jhulta Minar or Shaking Minarets.The mosque is located opposite the Ahmedabad Railway station and is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Ahmedabad. Entry to the shaking minaret was prohibited following an incident at Qutb Minar in Delhi, where a stampede resulted in many children being crushed.
8) Sabarmati Ashram / Mahatma Gandhi's Home
Timings: 8:30am - 6:00pm
This Ashram was established by Mahatma Gandhi on a quiet stretch of the Sabarmati river in 1917, it is a very calm and soothing place. Gandhi Ashram is the most popular tourist place in the city. It is mostly visited by tourists due to its importance. It was from here, in 1930, that Mahatma began his famous "Dandi March" to the sea to protest against the Salt Tax imposed by the British. The ashram houses a museum, library, auditorium and photo galleries.
9) Dumas Beach
This beach is believed to be one of the most haunted places of India.Apart from the beach, places of interest at Dumas including the Dariya Ganesh Temple located adjacent to the main beach.
10) Rani ki vav
It is an intricately constructed stepwell situated in the town of Patan. It is located on the banks of Saraswati River. Rani ki vav was built as a memorial to an 11th century AD king. It was added to the list of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites on 22 June 2014.

Rukmini Temple (Temple one of Shri Krishna's Patranis), is located 2 kms a away from Dwarka There is a myth associated with it Once Krishna and Rukmini went to "Durvasha rushi" to invite him at Dwarka. He was agreed on the condition that they (Krishna & Rukmini) have to carry the chariot instead of any animal. Krishna & Rukmini happily agreed to do so. While driving the chariot, Rukmini became thirsty.Then Krishna stopped the chariot and made water of Holy River Ganga by digging with his toe. "Durvasha" annoyed by the action and curse Rukmini to stay away from Shri Krishna Hence Rukmini temple is located 2 kms. Away from Dwarka's Jagat Mandir. It is widely believed among the devotees that the pilgrimage is incomplete if a devotee doesn't go to offer prayers at Rukmini Temple even if he worshiped the Lord at Dwarkadheesh temple.

This powerful Jyotirlinga symbolizes protection from all poisons. It is said that those who pray to the Nageshwar Linga become free of poison. The Rudra Samhita sloka refers to Nageshwar with the phrase 'Daarukaavane Naagesham'.
03.Gopi Talavs is situated just 20 km north of Dwarka and 5 km from the Nageshwara Jyotirlingas Temple.This holy pond is situated on the route to Beyt Dwarka from the main town. It is believed that Lord Krishna destroyed a demon named Bhaumasura and freed 16,000 princesses from his palace at this place. This place got its name as Gopi Talavs after the Gopi princesses,and fell in love with their lover lord Krishna and wanted to marry Krishna. Gopi Talab Dwarka Gujarat is a small pond bounded by sandal like yellow sand and it is known as Gopi Chandan.This Chandan is used by devotees of Lord Krishna to make Tilak marks on their bodies.It is believed to be the place where gopis came to see Lord Krishna in Dwarka.Gopi Talab is famous for Hindu religions. Gopi Talav Story of God Krishna's childhood flourish with young mischief and romance has a connection with this pond.He used to dance the raas with the Gopis in Vrindavan. When he stimulated to Dwarka, the Gopis could not bear the partition and came to stay him.Krishna would ever dance and sing a song and play his godly instrument flute could not live alienated from Lord for a long time.

Even before I checked into the resort in Dasada village in the Little Rann of Kutch Wildlife Sanctuary region in Gujarat, they had me impressed. Asking for directions while driving from Udaipur, they suggested I visit attractions like the Modhera Sun Temple and Patan on the way - it sure saved me a drive back from Dasada later to cover these.
You go to the Little Rann to explore the salt desert and sight wildlife - and if you are not in able hands, you could just have an average experience. Rann Riders had a highly knowledgeable and experienced guide waiting for me, who knew just where to go and at what time to spot the animals, birds and the landscape. You don’t want to travel all the way just to stay in a good resort - there is a purpose to it, and Rann Riders know it.

Asking for directions while driving from Udaipur, they suggested I visit attractions like the Modhera Sun Temple and Patan on the way - it sure saved me a drive back from Dasada later to cover these.
You go to the Little Rann to explore the salt desert and sight wildlife - and if you are not in able hands, you could just have an average experience. Six lane of Vadodara-Surat section of NH-8(New NH-48) including construction of a new four lane extradosd bridge across river Narmada in the state of Gujarat.
This is the largest extradosed span in India and first extradosed bridge in the state of Gujarat. Total length of the bridge is 1344mt and width is 20.8 m
This section used to experience traffic build-up from 30 minutes to 2 hours which will now get fully addressed with the completion of the project, minimizing inconvenience to the road users and shall allow smooth and safe movement of traffic.
