Panchvati is a place of religious significance and a pilgrimage spot, near the city of Nashik in Maharashtra, western India. In Hindu mythology and epic Ramayana, Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile period. It has been proposed to identify it with the modern Nasik, because Lakshmana cut off Surpanakha's nose at Panchavati.
In Panchavati today, there are five trees marked, one of which is an Ashoka tree. There is also a cave here called Sita Gupha. Sita, Ram and Lakshman prayed here to Lord Shiva. The ancient Shivalinga still exists in the small temple in the cave and is visited by devotees.
According to Hindu legends and Ramayana Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, stayed in Panchavati during their Vanvasa period. The Laxman Rekha is located in Panchavati about a kilometre away from Sita Gupha. It was from here that Ravana abducted Goddess Sita. Today this area is a major pilgrimage and tourist attraction.
Panchvati has many temples like Kalaram Temple, Goraram Temple, Sita Gumpha. There are also many temples in Tapovan which is very close to Panchvati. Its people are proud of its culture and its five thousand year old tradition.
On auspicious occasions like Mahashivratri, Rangapanchami, Makar Sankranti people take baths in river Godavari at Ramkund which is considered to be one of the most important places in Indian theology. According to Hindu theology, it is believed to be the place where a few drops of 'amrut' fell while the kalash was carried to the devatas. There are other holly places like Ramkunda, Muktidham temple, Pandavleni caves and Trimbakeshwar.

Nashik
Nashik (pron:ˈnʌʃɪk) (
pronunciation ) is a city in the northwest region of Maharashtra and is the administrative headquarter of the Nashik District and Nashik Division. It is the third largest city in Maharashtra. The city is situated at the foothills of the Western Ghats mountains on the banks of the river Godavari. At 700 m (2,300 ft) above sea level, its elevation is highest among the major cities in Maharashtra and one of the highest among million plus cities in India.
Geography
Nashik is in northern Maharashtra at 700 m (2,300 ft) from the mean sea level. The river Godavari originates 24 km (15 mi) from Brahmagiri Mountain, Trimbakeshwar, Nashik and flows along the northern boundary of the city through the old residential settlement. The river had been dying at an alarming rate due to pollution created by factories. But it has been successfully cleaned. Other than Godavari, important rivers like Vaitarana, Bhima, Girana, Kashyapi and Darana flow across Nashik.
Nashik lies on the western edge of the Deccan Plateau which is a volcanic formation. All over the district, lime nodules and kankar are found. Jalgaon and Aurangabad are to the east of Nashik. Ahmadnagar lies to the south while Thane and part of Gujrat are to the west of Nashik. The soil is primarily black which is favorable for agriculture.

Panchvati is a place of religious significance and a pilgrimage spot, near the city of Nashik in Maharashtra, western India. In Hindu mythology and epic Ramayana, Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile period. It has been proposed to identify it with the modern Nasik, because Lakshmana cut off Surpanakha's nose at Panchavati. In Panchavati today, there are five trees marked, one of which is an Ashoka tree. There is also a cave here called Sita Gupha. Sita, Ram and Lakshman prayed here to Lord Shiva. The ancient Shivalinga still exists in the small temple in the cave and is visited by devotees. According to Hindu legends and Ramayana Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, stayed in Panchavati during their Vanvasa period. The Laxman Rekha is located in Panchavati about a kilometre away from Sita Gupha. It was from here that Ravana abducted Goddess Sita. Today this area is a major pilgrimage and tourist attraction. Panchvati has many temples like Kalaram Temple, Goraram Temple, Sita Gumpha. There are also many temples in Tapovan which is very close to Panchvati. Its people are proud of its culture and its five thousand year old tradition. On auspicious occasions like Mahashivratri, Rangapanchami, Makar Sankranti people take baths in river Godavari at Ramkund which is considered to be one of the most important places in Indian theology. According to Hindu theology, it is believed to be the place where a few drops of 'amrut' fell while the kalash was carried to the devatas. There are other holly places like Ramkunda, Muktidham temple, Pandavleni caves and Trimbakeshwar. -

Panchvati is a place of religious significance and a pilgrimage spot, near the city of Nashik in Maharashtra, western India. In Hindu mythology and epic Ramayana, Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile period. Panchvati is a place of religious significance and a pilgrimage spot, near the city of Nashik in Maharashtra, western India. In Hindu mythology and epic Ramayana, Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile period. It has been proposed to identify it with the modern Nasik, because Lakshmana cut off Surpanakha's nose at Panchavati.
In Panchavati today, there are five trees marked, one of which is an Ashoka tree. There is also a cave here called Sita Gupha. Sita, Ram and Lakshman prayed here to Lord Shiva. The ancient Shivalinga still exists in the small temple in the cave and is visited by devotees.
According to Hindu legends and Ramayana Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, stayed in Panchavati during their Vanvasa period. The Laxman Rekha is located in Panchavati about a kilometre away from Sita Gupha. It was from here that Ravana abducted Goddess Sita. Today this area is a major pilgrimage and tourist attraction.
Panchvati has many temples like Kalaram Temple, Goraram Temple, Sita Gumpha. There are also many temples in Tapovan which is very close to Panchvati. Its people are proud of its culture and its five thousand year old tradition.
On auspicious occasions like Mahashivratri, Rangapanchami, Makar Sankranti people take baths in river Godavari at Ramkund which is considered to be one of the most important places in Indian theology. According to Hindu theology, it is believed to be the place where a few drops of 'amrut' fell while the kalash was carried to the devatas. There are other holly places like Ramkunda, Muktidham temple, Pandavleni caves and Trimbakeshwar.

Panchvati is a place of religious significance and a pilgrimage spot, near the city of Nashik in Maharashtra, western India. In Hindu mythology and epic Ramayana, Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile period. It has been proposed to identify it with the modern Nasik, because Lakshmana cut off Surpanakha's nose at Panchavati.
In Panchavati today, there are five trees marked, one of which is an Ashoka tree. There is also a cave here called Sita Gupha. Sita, Ram and Lakshman prayed here to Lord Shiva. The ancient Shivalinga still exists in the small temple in the cave and is visited by devotees.
According to Hindu legends and Ramayana Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, stayed in Panchavati during their Vanvasa period. The Laxman Rekha is located in Panchavati about a kilometre away from Sita Gupha. It was from here that Ravana abducted Goddess Sita. Today this area is a major pilgrimage and tourist attraction.
Panchvati has many temples like Kalaram Temple, Goraram Temple, Sita Gumpha. There are also many temples in Tapovan which is very close to Panchvati. Its people are proud of its culture and its five thousand year old tradition.
On auspicious occasions like Mahashivratri, Rangapanchami, Makar Sankranti people take baths in river Godavari at Ramkund which is considered to be one of the most important places in Indian theology. According to Hindu theology, it is believed to be the place where a few drops of 'amrut' fell while the kalash was carried to the devatas. There are other holly places like Ramkunda, Muktidham temple, Pandavleni caves and Trimbakeshwar.

Saputara is a city and a Hill Station Municipality in the Dang District of Gujarat state in India.
This picturesque hill station is perched on a plateau in the Dang forest area of the Sahyadri Range. At an altitude of about 1000 m. It has a cool bracing climate, the highest temperature even in the summer do not exceed 28 °C.
Saputara means the 'Abode of Serpents' and a snake image on the banks of the river Sarpagana is worshiped by the Adivasis on festivals like Holi.

Excursions from Saputara can be made to the wild life sanctuary in the Mahal Bardipara forest, 60 km. from here and to Gira Waterfalls 52 km away.

Panchvati is a place of religious significance and a pilgrimage spot, near the city of Nashik in Maharashtra, western India. In Hindu mythology and epic Ramayana, Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile period. Panchvati is a place of religious significance and a pilgrimage spot, near the city of Nashik in Maharashtra, western India. In Hindu mythology and epic Ramayana, Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile period. It has been proposed to identify it with the modern Nasik, because Lakshmana cut off Surpanakha's nose at Panchavati.
In Panchavati today, there are five trees marked, one of which is an Ashoka tree. There is also a cave here called Sita Gupha. Sita, Ram and Lakshman prayed here to Lord Shiva. The ancient Shivalinga still exists in the small temple in the cave and is visited by devotees.
According to Hindu legends and Ramayana Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, stayed in Panchavati during their Vanvasa period. The Laxman Rekha is located in Panchavati about a kilometre away from Sita Gupha. It was from here that Ravana abducted Goddess Sita. Today this area is a major pilgrimage and tourist attraction.
Panchvati has many temples like Kalaram Temple, Goraram Temple, Sita Gumpha. There are also many temples in Tapovan which is very close to Panchvati. Its people are proud of its culture and its five thousand year old tradition.
On auspicious occasions like Mahashivratri, Rangapanchami, Makar Sankranti people take baths in river Godavari at Ramkund which is considered to be one of the most important places in Indian theology. According to Hindu theology, it is believed to be the place where a few drops of 'amrut' fell while the kalash was carried to the devatas. There are other holly places like Ramkunda, Muktidham temple, Pandavleni caves and Trimbakeshwar.
