In this episode, David shows us 5 things to do in Durban, South Africa’s third largest city.
David’s first stop is Moses Mabhida Stadium, it may look familiar to you. It was built to host games during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It has the capacity to seat 54,000 spectators. Here you can ride Big Rush, the world’s tallest swing as per the Guinness Book of World Records!
Second thing to do in Durban is visit the Golden Mile, a 6-kilometer long beachfront promenade. Here, you can grab a bite, go shopping, or go surfing. There are plenty of surf shops in the area that also offer surf lessons.
Now for some shopping! David goes shopping at Victoria Street Market (AKA the Indian Market). Here you can find Indian spices, crafts, and there is also a meat and fish market.
From the market, David heads to Durban’s aquarium, uShaka Marine World. It is the largest aquarium in Africa and the fifth largest in the world. For lunch David dined at Cargo Hold restaurant located within an old shipwreck inside Ushaka Marina World.
And the last of the 5 things to do in Durban is to try Bunny Chow at House of Curries on Florida Road. It’s basically curry served in a bun and its delicious!
If you’re flying into Durban to experience the nearby game reserves I recommend you spend a couple of days seeing the city!

Note how the driver bluffs the residents then the passengers jumps out and the robbery commences. and how quick they are, in and out in a minute with the driver staying with the vehicle and turning it around for a quick clean getaway.

Durban
Durban (Zulu: eThekwini, from itheku meaning "bay/lagoon") is the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. After Johannesburg, the Durban Metropolitan Area ranks second among the most populous urban areas in South Africa, virtually ex-aequo with Cape Town. It is also the second most important manufacturing hub in South Africa after Johannesburg. It forms part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. Durban is famous for being the busiest port in South Africa. It is also seen as one of the major centres of tourism because of the city's warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches. The municipality, which includes neighbouring towns, has a population of almost 3.5 million, making the combined municipality one of the biggest cities on the Indian Ocean coast of the African continent. The metropolitan land area of 2,292 square kilometres (885 sq mi) is comparatively larger than other South African cities, resulting in a somewhat lower population density of 1,513/km2 (3,920/sq mi). It has the highest number of dollar millionaires added per year of any South African city with the number rising 200% between 2000 and 2014.

Jordy Smith
Jordan Michael "Jordy" Smith (born 11 February 1988) is a South African professional surfer, competing on the World Championship Tour (WCT). In 2007 Smith won surfing's World Qualifying Series, the second-tier tour which leads to qualification for the WCT.
Jordy Smith won both the 2010 and 2011 Billabong J-Bay competitions in South Africa, which is part of the WCT Dream Tour, making him the no. 1 ranked surfer in the world. Correction for the full year Kelly Slater was number one in the world in 2010 and 2011, Jordy was number 2 in 2010 but briefly held the top spot after week 4 of the CT<http://www.worldsurfleague.com/athletes/tour/mct?year=2010>.

After a year of shooting in and around the Durban area Matt Wilkes and myself Kierran Allen were finally done! We felt that we had what we needed to showcase Durban in a unique way! We are both such passionate and creative people and this is just how we see Durban, South Africa We waited for the best conditions weather wise to capture some of Durban's most spectacular views. Unity - Colour Festival Durban Aftermovie
Shot on the Sony FS700 This is a short event film I shot and edited, entitled Unity. I named it unity because unlike other events, everyone is encouraged to interact with each other, especially if it's just throwing coloured powder, and this video is about showcasing that oneness. After every DJ or performer, there was a countdown to a unified throw of magnificent colours. In that moment, we felt, we loved, we danced. We may have entered with our differences, but we all left looking like a true rainbow nation. Shot with a Sony FS700 and 3 lenses in about 2 hours. In this episode, David shows us 5 things to do in Durban, South Africa’s third largest city.
David’s first stop is Moses Mabhida Stadium, it may look familiar to you. It was built to host games during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It has the capacity to seat 54,000 spectators. Here you can ride Big Rush, the world’s tallest swing as per the Guinness Book of World Records!
Second thing to do in Durban is visit the Golden Mile, a 6-kilometer long beachfront promenade. Here, you can grab a bite, go shopping, or go surfing. There are plenty of surf shops in the area that also offer surf lessons.
Now for some shopping! David goes shopping at Victoria Street Market (AKA the Indian Market). Here you can find Indian spices, crafts, and there is also a meat and fish market.
From the market, David heads to Durban’s aquarium, uShaka Marine World. It is the largest aquarium in Africa and the fifth largest in the world. For lunch David dined at Cargo Hold restaurant located within an old shipwreck inside Ushaka Marina World.
And the last of the 5 things to do in Durban is to try Bunny Chow at House of Curries on Florida Road. It’s basically curry served in a bun and its delicious!
If you’re flying into Durban to experience the nearby game reserves I recommend you spend a couple of days seeing the city!

Shot on the Sony FS700 This is a short event film I shot and edited, entitled Unity. I named it unity because unlike other events, everyone is encouraged to interact with each other, especially if it's just throwing coloured powder, and this video is about showcasing that oneness. After every DJ or performer, there was a countdown to a unified throw of magnificent colours. In that moment, we felt, we loved, we danced. In this episode, David shows us 5 things to do in Durban, South Africa’s third largest city.
David’s first stop is Moses Mabhida Stadium, it may look familiar to you. It was built to host games during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It has the capacity to seat 54,000 spectators. Here you can ride Big Rush, the world’s tallest swing as per the Guinness Book of World Records!
Second thing to do in Durban is visit the Golden Mile, a 6-kilometer long beachfront promenade. Here, you can grab a bite, go shopping, or go surfing. There are plenty of surf shops in the area that also offer surf lessons.
Now for some shopping! David goes shopping at Victoria Street Market (AKA the Indian Market). Here you can find Indian spices, crafts, and there is also a meat and fish market.
From the market, David heads to Durban’s aquarium, uShaka Marine World. It is the largest aquarium in Africa and the fifth largest in the world. For lunch David dined at Cargo Hold restaurant located within an old shipwreck inside Ushaka Marina World.
And the last of the 5 things to do in Durban is to try Bunny Chow at House of Curries on Florida Road. It’s basically curry served in a bun and its delicious!
If you’re flying into Durban to experience the nearby game reserves I recommend you spend a couple of days seeing the city!

We may have entered with our differences, but we all left looking like a true rainbow nation.
