Queensland

Queensland (abbreviated as Qld) is the second-largest and third-most-populous state in Australia. Situated in the north-east of the country, it is bordered by the Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales to the west, south-west and south respectively. To the east, Queensland is bordered by the Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean. Queensland has a population of 4,750,500, concentrated along the coast and particularly in the state's South East. The state is the world's sixth largest sub-national entity, with an area of 1,852,642 km². The capital and largest city in the state is Brisbane, Australia's third largest city. Often referred to as the "Sunshine State", Queensland is home to 10 of Australia's 30 largest cities and is the nation's third largest economy.

Queensland was first inhabited by Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders. The first European to land in Queensland (and Australia) was Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon in 1606, who explored the west coast of the Cape York Peninsula near present-day Weipa. In 1770, Lieutenant James Cook claimed the east coast of Australia for the Kingdom of Great Britain. The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788 by Governor Arthur Phillip at Sydney; New South Wales at that time included all of what is now Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. Queensland was explored in subsequent decades until the establishment of a penal colony at Brisbane in 1824 by John Oxley. Penal transportation ceased in 1839 and free settlement was allowed from 1842.

State of Origin

State of origin is the state or territory from which something originates. The name is also used in Australia for both small and larger sports events which generally involve domestic representative teams. The term, when used in isolation, usually refers to rugby league football, and occasionally Australian rules football matches, in which players are selected for the Australian states or territories where they either first played (hence the name 'state of origin') or played the majority of their senior football. The concept mirrors international representative rules in other sports. The annual State of Origin series is now one of Australia's most popular sporting events.

It was devised to address the drift of most talented Australian rules players to the Victorian Football League (VFL) and the effect that this had on interstate matches. A similar situation existed in regard to the New South Wales Rugby League which attracted the best players from the Queensland Rugby League because of its far stronger and financially attractive competition. The latter was due to the increased funds of the New South Wales clubs, due to poker machines, which Queensland laws prohibited.

Blues

Blues is a genre and musical form that originated in African-American communities in the "Deep South" of the United States around the end of the 19th century. The genre developed from roots in traditional African music, combined with European American folk music. Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The blues form, ubiquitous in jazz, rhythm and blues and rock and roll, is characterized by the call-and-response pattern, the blues scale and specific chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar blues is the most common. The blue notes (or "worried notes") which are often thirds or fifths which are flatter in pitch than in other music styles, are also an important part of the sound. Blues shuffles or walking bass reinforce the trance-like rhythm and form a repetitive effect called a groove.

Blues as a genre possesses other characteristics such as lyrics, bass lines, and instruments. The lyrics of early traditional blues verses consisted of a single line repeated four times. It was only in the first decades of the 20th century that the most common current structure became standard: the so-called AAB pattern, consisting of a line sung over the four first bars, its repetition over the next four, and then a longer concluding line over the last bars. Early blues frequently took the form of a loose narrative, often relating troubles experienced within African American society.

New South Wales

New South Wales (abbreviated as NSW) is a state on the east coast of Australia. It borders Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, South Australia to the west, the Tasman Sea to the east and surrounds the whole of the Australian Capital Territory. New South Wales' capital city is Sydney, which is also the nation's most populous city. In March 2014, the estimated population of New South Wales was 7.5 million, making it Australia's most populous state. Just under two-thirds of the state's population, 4.67 million, live in the Greater Sydney area. Inhabitants of New South Wales are referred to as New South Welshmen.

The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788. It originally comprised a much larger area of the Australian mainland and also included Lord Howe Island, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and Van Diemen's Land. During the 19th century, large areas were separated to form the British colonies of Tasmania, South Australia, New Zealand, Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory (1863).

SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 It was a night to farewell a legend but the Maroons have uncovered Johnathan Thurston's heir apparent after Cameron Munster's stunning State of Origin debut in Queensland's 22-6 Game Three win at Suncorp Stadium. Played in front of a ground record of 52,540 predominantly Queensland fans Munster was involved heavily from the outset, Storm teammates Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk showing great faith to bring their new five-eighth into the play at every opportunity. Queensland had never handed a half an Origin debut in a Game Three decider in 35 years of three-match series but any concerns the Rockhampton product would shy away from the occasion were almost immediately dispelled. It was Munster's pass that created the space for Michael Morgan to put Valentine Holmes across for the first of his three tries in the 15th minute but it was midway through the second half that the 22-year-old endeared himself to an entire state. With the match hanging in the balance and the Blues finally building into the contest after trailing 12-0 at half-time it was Munster who broke the game apart in the 60th minute with a brilliant piece of play to set up Holmes for his third try of the night. Spotting Blues half Mitchell Pearce shooting out of the line, Munster stepped hard off his left to slice between Pearce and Boyd Cordner, evaded the clutches of Josh Dugan and sent the pass wide to Holmes who miraculously reeled in one-handed a pass that was high and behind him, bouncing out of two tackles to score in the corner and a 16-6 lead. Some wonderful interplay between Cronk and Slater put the Maroons on the attack again shortly thereafter and it was Munster who dropped the ball onto his left foot and earned his side an invaluable repeat set. From the ensuing set he sent prop Jarrod Wallace over for the first try of his Origin career with a desperate offload on the last tackle that only goes to hand when the game is running all your way. Playing with the exuberance and energy you would expect of a game of such magnitude the two teams traded errors and penalties in the opening 12 minutes but the Blues were unable to convert a possession rate nearing 60 per cent into points. Queensland showed their intent early with expansive shifts to both sides of the field and their clinical execution yielded results in the 15th minute when Billy Slater cut back and sparked a left-edge raid that finished with Morgan delivering another pass in a big moment for Holmes to score the first of his two first-half tries in the corner. The old firm of Smith, Slater and Cronk looked to have doubled their advantage from the next set of six only for a desperate lunge by Brett Morris to jolt the ball free of Cronk's grasp as he dived over the try-line to the right of the posts but there was more brilliance to come. Making a mockery of the suggestion his ineffectiveness is dulling with age Smith sliced through some awful Blues defence in the 25th minute to put Josh Papalii on a charge toward the line but it was Cronk's tracer-like inside-out banana kick to the corner that hit Holmes square on the chest from the next play that brought the sold-out crowd to its feet in rapturous admiration. As the Blues tried to bash their way through the middle the Maroons continued to attack at every opportunity, Smith and Cronk providing the steady hand to a bunch of youngsters eager to show off on the game's greatest stage. The 12-point lead they took into half-time could have been far greater such was their dominance and should have been after Smith chanced his hand by going himself after Tim Glasby had collected a ball that bounced off Matt Gillett's head only to be brought down 10 metres short. An error from Cordner two minutes in on halfway gave Queensland an early shot in the second half and if Slater's one-handed offload to Will Chambers was even slightly softer they most likely would have had their third. As many were waiting for Queensland to put the Blues out of the misery James Maloney threw up a Hail Mary to the corner and Josh Dugan somehow plucked it from the grasp of Holmes before running around to bridge the gap to just six points with 30 minutes left to play. Some swarming Blues defence at the end of the next set pressured Queensland on their line for the first time in the game and a Will Chambers error and subsequent penalty had the Maroons under the pump but any resistance would be short-lived. The 46-point margin broke previous highest winning margin in Origin history of 40 points, set by the Blues 15 years ago. It was also only the second time in Origin history that a team has scored more than 50 points after NSW defeated Queensland 56-16 in the aforementioned match in Game Three, 2000. The Maroons scored six tries before the Blues could reply through Michael Jennings midway through the second half, but it mattered for little as Queensland cruised towards victory in front of a crowd of over 52,000. The Blues couldn't handle Queensland's rampant momentum and were unable take control of proceedings with only 30 per cent of possession for the match. Greg Inglis was heavily involved from the outset, running for 139 metres and scoring a try as he rotated between fullback and winger with Darius Boyd. Will Chambers ran for 175 metres and also scored a try, while Corey Parker (147 metres and 23 tackles) and Jacob Lillyman (137 metres) led the way for Queensland's forwards. Parker received the Wally Lewis Medal for player of the series, just prior to the moment when Cameron Smith lifted the Origin shield for the fourth time as Queensland captain. Down by 20 points at half-time, the night went from bad to worse for the Blues as Matt Gillett scored his second Origin try in as many games after pouncing on the Steeden after it was batted back into play by retiring centre Justin Hodges from over his own dead-ball line. The 42nd-minute try was reminiscent of the Inglis bat-back during the 2008 Centenary Test with the moment of Maroons brilliance bringing the record Suncorp Stadium crowd to their feet. Eight minutes later Michael Morgan scored his first Origin try from only his third touch of the game to extend Queensland's lead to 34-2. The Maroons weren’t finished scoring as Morgan sent Boyd over in the corner for Queensland's sixth try of the night and Johnathan Thurston converted his eighth goal from as many attempts to break Mal Meninga's Queensland record of seven goals in an Origin match. A runaway try to Jennings in the 61st minute ensured the Blues wouldn't head home without a four-pointer, although it was little consolation as Chambers found the line seven minutes later to take the score out to 46-6. Further Queensland celebrations ensued when Aidan Guerra crashed over the line two minutes from full-time and Hodges lined up the conversion attempt, guiding his effort between the uprights to finish the game off at 52-6. There was niggling between both sides from the outset, not surprisingly instigated by Michael Ennis, who lined up for his first Origin since the 2011 decider after replacing the injured Robbie Farah prior to kick-off. The Blues targeted Origin debutant Dane Gagai from their first attacking kick and it paid dividends with the Maroons winger spilling the ball allowing NSW a chance to open the scoring. NSW were unable to crack Queensland's line and had to settle for a penalty goal and a 2-0 lead after five minutes. Queensland squared the ledger four minutes later when Thurston slotted an easy two points after receiving back-to-back penalties. A Will Hopoate error allowed the Maroons a prime opportunity to press for the opening try and they duly obliged when Gagai crossed unmarked out wide. Thurston's sublime sideline conversion took the Queenslanders out to an 8-2 lead in the 15th minute. The Blues rallied and dominated the next 10-minute period but couldn't convert their possession into points and soon found themselves defending their own line again when prop Aaron Woods conceded a marker penalty. Queensland capitalised moments later when Thurston sent Josh Papalii over the line for his maiden Origin try and a 14-2 lead 13 minutes out from half-time. The Maroons extended their lead to 14 points when Beau Scott took out Smith with a late tackle and the host's advantage soon became 20 points when Inglis crossed for his 17th Origin try. An ugly lifting tackle by Trent Merrin on Corey Parker allowed Queensland to go on the attack once again and the destructive Maroons fullback steamrolled his way over the paint much to the delight of the Suncorp Stadium crowd. The Maroons had one final opportunity to crack the Blues' line again inside the final minute of the first half but NSW held on to keep scoreboard reading 22-2 at half-time.

The ageing Maroons and their dynasty looked shot to bits when the Blues raced out to a 16-6 lead with two quick tries midway through the first half but their new-look forward pack found a way to match it with their power-packed opponents right throughout a tense second 40 in which the Blues were held scoreless. Queensland found first one try to make things tense and then, right near the death, a second try with Johnathan Thurston's ice-cold sideline conversion stealing the lead against the odds with three minutes to play. The Blues monstered their opponents in the 20 minutes before halftime but looked frantic and nervous in their scoreless second 40 as they could feel the breath on their necks of their long-time tormenters coming for them. The ageless Billy Slater was in everything in his first Origin for two years, defusing everything at the back, scheming in attack, lurking around the ruck, supporting every play. Thurston proved he had what the Maroons were missing in Game One; despite looking hampered by a shoulder injury for much of the game he was the perfect foil for Cooper Cronk who was himself far improved from Game One. The Queensland middle forwards, and most notably Josh McGuire and Dylan Napa, found a way to match the Blues up the middle. The Blues now face the unenviable task of heading up to Suncorp for a Game Three decider in hostile territory against a Queensland side with their tails up and ready to send Johnathan Thurston into representative retirement with one last win. The Blues failed to capitalise on their early dominance and their game management in the second half was found wanting with too many rushed or frantic plays. Of everyone it was their most experienced player in Jarryd Hayne who came up with the most questionable options in that period but the halves too, despite offering plenty in attack – especially in the first half – who needed to command the ball and get the team to the right parts of the field to shut the game down. The start of the contest was more stop-start than the previous, frantic Game One opener with debutant Valentine Holmes knocking on from his very first touch in Origin and James Maloney gifting two silly penalties in the opening 10 minutes to put the Blues under pressure. The second of those proved expensive with a left-side shift allowing Darius Boyd in the centre position to pop the perfect pass out to Holmes, who capitalised on opposite man Blake Ferguson coming in to tiptoe down the touchline. The bunker couldn't find conclusive evidence of Holmes's foot scraping the chalk and the try was awarded. In almost a mirror image of the way the Maroons opened the scoring the Blues hit back, cashing in on consecutive penalties to get in range before a nice sequence of passing saw Tedesco pass for Hayne to crash over in the left corner. Right after both coaches interchanged their respective pairs of starting front rowers, Maloney shot past Tim Glasby who was fresh on the field and from open space fired a pass out to Brett Morris to put the Blues up 10-6. The Blues went back to back when Jake Trbojevic slipped a sublime inside ball to send Tedesco screaming into space and Mitch Pearce supported to score the try that threatened to blow the game open at 16-6. The Maroons launched a final assault on the Blues' line in the shadows of half time and turned down a free two points from a penalty with 30 second to go in a desperate search for a vital try. Despite NSW leading on the scoreboard the momentum was firmly with the Maroons. Things got worse for Laurie Daley's men when James Tedesco was forced off for a head injury assessment, which brought Jack Bird into the game and shifted Josh Dugan to fullback. The game-breaking play came in the 77th minute; NSW couldn't hang on to Cronk's cross-field bomb and handed the Maroons a scrum from 10 metres out. A shift left was unsuccessful but a shift right saw Slater's pace create headaches and his deft pass onto Morgan (at centre for Chambers) who flicked the perfect offload back in for Gagai to level the scores. The job wasn't quite finished as NSW claimed the ball from a short restart but the Queensland defence held firm to send the series to a decider. Having said this, I do not support police in their role as government revenue-raisers and tax collectors, such as cops booking motorists by entrapment and operating to both official and unofficial booking quotas or acting unlawfully.

If you're planning to turn left: *Approach the roundabout in the left lane or line of traffic. *Signal left as you approach the roundabout. *Continue to signal left as you exit the roundabout. *Turn your indicator off after you've exited. If you want to drive straight ahead on a roundabout: *You can approach without signaling. *But make sure you signal left as you exit if it's practical to do so. *Turn your indicator off after you've left the roundabout. To make a right turn: *Approach the roundabout in the right lane or line of traffic. *Signal right as you approach the roundabout. *Continue to signal right until you are ready to exit. *Signal left before you exit the roundabout if it's practical to do so. *Turn your indicator off after you've left the roundabout. Simple misunderstandings of road rules can cause a lot of grief - from near misses and minor crashes to serious injury or worse.
