Burn!
Burn! (Italian: Queimada) is a 1969 Italian-French war drama film directed by Gillo Pontecorvo and starring Marlon Brando, Evaristo Márquez and Renato Salvatori. The music was composed by Ennio Morricone. The fictional story focuses on the creation of a banana republic in the Caribbean, and the events that follow it. Brando plays a British secret government agent, named after the American filibuster William Walker, who manipulates a slave revolt to serve the interests of the sugar trade.
Plot
The British government sends Sir William Walker (Brando), an agent provocateur, to the fictional island of Queimada, a Portuguese possession in the Lesser Antilles. Britain seeks to open the island to exploitation by the fictional Antilles Royal Sugar Company. Walker's task is to organize an uprising of African slaves against the Portuguese regime, which the British intend to replace with a government dominated by pliable white planters.
When he arrives in Queimada, Walker befriends José Dolores (Márquez), whom he entices to lead the slave revolt, and induces leading landowners to reject Portuguese rule. Dolores's rebellion is successful, and Walker arranges the assassination of the Portuguese governor in a nighttime coup. Walker establishes a puppet regime beholden to British sugar interests, headed by the idealistic but weak revolutionary Teddy Sanchez (Salvatori). Walker convinces Dolores to recognize the new regime and to surrender his arms, in exchange for the abolition of slavery. Having succeeded in his mission, he returns to Britain.

On August 11th, 2012, I summoned a group of people integrated by an art-historian, an historian, a visual artist, an actor and a social and political activist in order to burn a car to make an art-work. After a short debate and a class in which we learnt how to make and manipulate a molotov, we burnt a Citroen 3CV, similar to the ones that had been burnt during the Cordobazo (an insurrection that took place in Cordoba, Argentina, in 1969). "Ante la ley" ( Over the law) documents that performance and becomes part of "Entre el desastre y la esperanza" (Between disaster and hope) the final art-work composed by the burnt car placed on jurisprudence books, a couple of photos showing the before and after of the car and this video. res www.resh.com.ar

Born in 1969, Sandro Figueroa, commonly known as Sen2, grew up in Puerto Rico. But it wasn’t until a trip to New York City in the 80s, that he found the art of graffiti. At the age of 16, he became part of the Mike Varney-produced duo Cacophony with his friend Marty Friedman. They released Speed Metal Symphony in 1987 and Go Off! in 1988. After a short debate and a class in which we learnt how to make and manipulate a molotov, we burnt a Citroen 3CV, similar to the ones that had been burnt during the Cordobazo (an insurrection that took place in Cordoba, Argentina, in 1969).

Born in 1969, Sandro Figueroa, commonly known as Sen2, grew up in Puerto Rico. But it wasn’t until a trip to New York City in the 80s, that he found the art of graffiti. Bringing his newfound passion back home, Sen2 immersed himself in the subculture. In 1986, he met a like-minded, up-and-coming artist named Rek. Soon, they met Ske and Soze, and together they formed the Mad Crew. Sen2 ultimately moved to New York City. It was at this point in his life that he met and joined the most famous graffiti crew ever assembled in the world to date: Tats Cru. With Tats Cru, Sen2 travelled throughout Europe and the rest of the globe. He found himself creating art for music videos, working with high profile artists (Jennifer Lopez, Nas, Missy Elliot). He was even commissioned by Robert DeNiro. Over the years, Sen2 has grown into one of hardest working contemporary artists in the world, with abstract paintings on display throughout America and Europe. In early 2012, he established Many Styles, a fully equipped design Studio.

Jason Becker, (born July 22, 1969) is an American neo-classical metal guitarist and composer. At the age of 16, he became part of the Mike Varney-produced duo Cacophony with his friend Marty Friedman. They released Speed Metal Symphony in 1987 and Go Off! in 1988. Cacophony broke up in 1989 and Becker began doing solo work, having released his first album Perpetual Burn in 1988. He later joined David Lee Roth's band and recorded one album with him. However, Becker's success was hampered by his then-diagnosed amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and was given three to five years to live. In 1996, Becker eventually lost the ability to speak and now communicates with his eyes via a system developed by his father. Despite his disability, he continues composing by using a computer.
