Tribute (1980) Jack Lemmon excerpt from 1994 HBO remastered Laserdisc
The summer of 1980 saw the release of this hugely popular coming of age comic drama "Little Darlings'. The film showcased the talents of Academy Award Winning actress Tatum O'Neal ("Paper Moon") and inparticular Kristy McNichol (of television's "Family"), who turns in a particularly remarkable performance. Two girls one rich Ferris Whitney (Tatum O'Neal), and the other streetwise Aggel Bright (Kristy McNichol), strike a bet while away at summer camp. Whoever loses their virginity first......wins $100.00. Matt Dillon (in his second big screen role), plays McNichol's love interest. Armand Assante plays a counselor and the target of O'Neal's. Music rights are most likely the culprit in the failure of this rare film's release on DVD. It remains up in the air as to if and when this will ever be released. Look for a very young Cynthia Nixon from "Sex in the City" as "Sunshine" the teenage hippie with the long blonde hair. I hope you enjoy this tribute to "Little Darlings".

I thought this song would go perfectly with some scenes from some of my favorite films of the 80s. Having an older brother meant that I got to see many of these movies when they were first on VHS (remember? How long ago it seems!). ICONIC - AMDA's Fall Dance Concert of 2015 - was a modern celebration of 20th Century dance on film reimagined through live performance. Immersed in the rich history of dance from the 1920's to now, AMDA students trained rigorously with some of the most innovative artists of the era, including original choreographers and dancers from CHICAGO to DIRTY DANCING and Janet Jackson's IF. Students recreated cinema's most cherished dance moments as ICONIC intertwined screen and stage in homage to some of the greatest dancers of all time: from Fred Astaire to the sultry burlesque of the "Cell Block Tango" to the pop grooves of Michael Jackson. Surprisingly modern, ICONIC transposed the dances that dominated our screens to the visceral world of live theatre, paying tribute to the films that still impact nearly every aspect of modern entertainment, from today's hottest and most cutting edge music videos, to the shared experiences of artists and audiences across the world. ICONIC was directed by dancer/director/choreographer Doriana Sanchez. Original choreography reimagined included that by masters Fred Astaire and Hermes Pan - Cheek to Cheek from TOP HAT; Gene Kelly and Arthur Freed - Moses Supposes from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN; Jerome Robbins - Dance at the Gym from WEST SIDE STORY; Louis Falco - Conversation Without Words from FAME; John O'Connell - El Tango Roxanne from MOULIN ROUGE; Daniel Ezralow - ACROSS THE UNIVERSE REDUX; Rob Marshall - Cell Block Tango from CHICAGO; Louis Johnson - Ease On Down the Road from THE WIZ; Bob Fosse - Rich Man's Frug from SWEET CHARITY; Tina Landon - Janet Jackson's IF (Tina choreographed IF again for ICONIC); Karole Ermitage - Madonna's VOGUE; Vincent Paterson - Michael Jackson's SMOOTH CRIMINAL; MC Hammer - for his own HAMMER; Jared Hess and Jon Heder - Vote for Pedro from NAPOLEON DYNAMITE; and Kenny Ortega - Time of My Life from DIRTY DANCING (reimagined and choreographed by original cast member/dancer Doriana Sanchez). I thought this song would go perfectly with some scenes from some of my favorite films of the 80s. Having an older brother meant that I got to see many of these movies when they were first on VHS (remember? How long ago it seems!). All of the movies featured teens dealing with the tribulations of adolescence, and how complicated romance could be - wanting to fit in, to succeed, to find love, etc. Hope you enjoy!

ICONIC - AMDA's Fall Dance Concert of 2015 - was a modern celebration of 20th Century dance on film reimagined through live performance. Immersed in the rich history of dance from the 1920's to now, AMDA students trained rigorously with some of the most innovative artists of the era, including original choreographers and dancers from CHICAGO to DIRTY DANCING and Janet Jackson's IF.
Students recreated cinema's most cherished dance moments as ICONIC intertwined screen and stage in homage to some of the greatest dancers of all time: from Fred Astaire to the sultry burlesque of the "Cell Block Tango" to the pop grooves of Michael Jackson.
Surprisingly modern, ICONIC transposed the dances that dominated our screens to the visceral world of live theatre, paying tribute to the films that still impact nearly every aspect of modern entertainment, from today's hottest and most cutting edge music videos, to the shared experiences of artists and audiences across the world.
ICONIC was directed by dancer/director/choreographer Doriana Sanchez. Original choreography reimagined included that by masters Fred Astaire and Hermes Pan - Cheek to Cheek from TOP HAT; Gene Kelly and Arthur Freed - Moses Supposes from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN; Jerome Robbins - Dance at the Gym from WEST SIDE STORY; Louis Falco - Conversation Without Words from FAME; John O'Connell - El Tango Roxanne from MOULIN ROUGE; Daniel Ezralow - ACROSS THE UNIVERSE REDUX; Rob Marshall - Cell Block Tango from CHICAGO; Louis Johnson - Ease On Down the Road from THE WIZ; Bob Fosse - Rich Man's Frug from SWEET CHARITY; Tina Landon - Janet Jackson's IF (Tina choreographed IF again for ICONIC); Karole Ermitage - Madonna's VOGUE; Vincent Paterson - Michael Jackson's SMOOTH CRIMINAL; MC Hammer - for his own HAMMER; Jared Hess and Jon Heder - Vote for Pedro from NAPOLEON DYNAMITE; and Kenny Ortega - Time of My Life from DIRTY DANCING (reimagined and choreographed by original cast member/dancer Doriana Sanchez).

ICONIC - AMDA's Fall Dance Concert of 2015 - was a modern celebration of 20th Century dance on film reimagined through live performance. Immersed in the rich history of dance from the 1920's to now, AMDA students trained rigorously with some of the most innovative artists of the era, including original choreographers and dancers from CHICAGO to DIRTY DANCING and Janet Jackson's IF.
Students recreated cinema's most cherished dance moments as ICONIC intertwined screen and stage in homage to some of the greatest dancers of all time: from Fred Astaire to the sultry burlesque of the "Cell Block Tango" to the pop grooves of Michael Jackson.
Surprisingly modern, ICONIC transposed the dances that dominated our screens to the visceral world of live theatre, paying tribute to the films that still impact nearly every aspect of modern entertainment, from today's hottest and most cutting edge music videos, to the shared experiences of artists and audiences across the world.
ICONIC was directed by dancer/director/choreographer Doriana Sanchez. Original choreography reimagined included that by masters Fred Astaire and Hermes Pan - Cheek to Cheek from TOP HAT; Gene Kelly and Arthur Freed - Moses Supposes from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN; Jerome Robbins - Dance at the Gym from WEST SIDE STORY; Louis Falco - Conversation Without Words from FAME; John O'Connell - El Tango Roxanne from MOULIN ROUGE; Daniel Ezralow - ACROSS THE UNIVERSE REDUX; Rob Marshall - Cell Block Tango from CHICAGO; Louis Johnson - Ease On Down the Road from THE WIZ; Bob Fosse - Rich Man's Frug from SWEET CHARITY; Tina Landon - Janet Jackson's IF (Tina choreographed IF again for ICONIC); Karole Ermitage - Madonna's VOGUE; Vincent Paterson - Michael Jackson's SMOOTH CRIMINAL; MC Hammer - for his own HAMMER; Jared Hess and Jon Heder - Vote for Pedro from NAPOLEON DYNAMITE; and Kenny Ortega - Time of My Life from DIRTY DANCING (reimagined and choreographed by original cast member/dancer Doriana Sanchez).

Full design construction section with an animated look at the original Diorama effects and ride layout. Then walk into the pavilion for the full Radok preshow with source audio. Load in theatre one and see the entire multiplane theatre one film with a remixed audio track. Full multi angle ride through of the original Diorama with a remixed soundtrack, full theatre two holding audio with multi angle video, and full multi angle theatre two film, again with remixed audio. Then travel onwards for the full spectacular multi angle finale with full source audio. Exit theatre two and cross to Communicore and have a quick tour of Energy Exchange. Regarding the theatre remixed audio tracks; as anyone who has tried to record dialogue in the theatres it`s difficult to not get any of the other 600 guests making noise; using multiple tracks these tracks have virtually no guests noise on them. Also, theatre one dialogue tended to record `muffled` and theatre two had a lot of reverb; I`ve eliminated these issues as much as possible too. 56 minutes long.

The film was shot in 2000 on the occasion of P.S. 122's 20th season. To honor that achievement Charles Dennis, one of the co-founders of the space, invited the ten choreographers to return for a special taping of selected dances from their repertories. Combining new and archival performance clips, interviews with the artists, commentary by Deborah Jowitt of the Village Voice, Jennifer Dunning of The New York Times, Joseph Melillo the Executive Producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, former P.S 122 Artistic Director Mark Russell and P.S. 122 co-founders Charles Moulton, Tim Miller and Charles Dennis the film illuminates a portrait of a fertile dance scene that was instrumental in expanding the boundaries of contemporary dance and performance. Performance photography by Dona Ann McAdams and original music by John Zorn are also featured in the film.
