Hole was an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989 by singer and guitarist Courtney Love and lead guitarist Eric Erlandson. The band had a revolving line-up of bassists and drummers, their most prolific being drummer Patty Schemel, and bassists Kristen Pfaff (d. 1994) and Melissa Auf der Maur. Over the duration of their career, Hole went on to become one of the most successful female-fronted rock bands of all time, with their studio albums selling over three million records in the United States alone.
Initially prolific in Los Angeles' punk rock scene, the band collaborated with Kim Gordon for their critically acclaimed debut album, Pretty on the Inside (1991), following it with the more commercially viable Live Through This (1994), which was widely acclaimed and reached platinum status within a year of its release. With Love's lyrics explicitly discussing issues of body image, identity, and sexual exploitation, Hole became the most high-profile musical group of the 1990s to discuss feminist issues in their songs, and also gained considerable media coverage due to Love's reckless and disturbing live performances. Their third release, the more polished Celebrity Skin (1998), garnered them four Grammy nominations. In 2002 the group disbanded to pursue other projects.

Plot: A ship's captain is promoted by his company from tramp steamers to their flagship passenger liner. Although he is a thoroughly competent sailor ready to take charge of such a ship, he is less prepared for the social duties the new position involves, not least the way he becomes the target for all the comely unattached women on board.

http://grrlbandgeek.blogspot.com/ The members of Hole are interviewed about the importance of L.A. punk band The Germs in their lives. This is part of a bigger documentary about The Germs that was filmed to coincide with the release of a tribute album to the band. Hole appeared on the compilation with special guest Pat Smear under the moniker The Holez covering the Germs song "Circle 1".

Heath Daniels goes back stage at the Ford Amphitheater for the Los Angeles premiere of "Hit So Hard". Patty and Heath discuss drums, drugs, looking back and moving forward. Patty is reunited with Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson for an all-star concert featuring Sia, Jorjee Douglass, and rock star Linda Perry. The documentary Hit So Hard is a pull-no-punches portrait of the hell-and-back life of Patty Schemel, the hard-hitting drummer of Courtney Love's seminal rock band 'Hole' during its peak years.

Anguish and misery fall here like a dead star And everything you ever said now tears me all apart He goes down, down to his bitter end He knows now, now it's the gutter He goes down, down to his bitter end He knows now, now you can't touch him Pray for the rain oh are you up there do you listen? It's the terror and the pain and I just wait 'til you have risen He goes down, down to his only friend He knows now, now that you love him He goes down, down to his bitter end He knows now, now you can't touch him Hold on to you like the death of an angel And I hold on to you with all the life that's in me Why I'm not good enough to save you from destruction? Origins is part of my new Emergence audiovisual show. It examines how everything comes from (almost) nothing - how simple laws create complex, fascinating and beautiful outcomes. Origins shows how electromagnetism - one of the four fundamental forces, helps create the types of cell structures that allow life to emerge. What you see is water mixed with an oily ferrofluid. Because their charge properties are different, they cannot mix – each repels the other. But when forcibly mixed by mechanical or magnetic forces, the result is that spheres form of one fluid inside the other – basic cell-like structures. All living cells today exhibit this same natural property of being encased in molecules that form a barrier which repels water, and it’s possible that the first cells arose through th...

Our band doing a cover of Supermassive Black Hole by Muse at a school event. First time I perform with this current lineup, so things didn't go as smooth as they could've. I had two new members from my last gig. Anyways here's the lineup (with their shirt colours lol): Luca Van Doorn (Pink) - Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar ByungHee Lee (Yellow) - Lead Guitar Bart Timmer (Black) - Bass Takaki Nakamura (Me, in the back) - Drums, Backing Vocals Can't see me for most of the song cause the bassist always got in the way, but the silver bar you see on the underneath the wierd painting in the back is my mic stand. I sang the "Glaciers melting in the dead of the night" backing vocals, "it's a supermassive black hole" chant, and "into the supermassive" whisper. My mic was too low so yo...

Hole performing Celebrity Skin live at Don Hill's in NYC, Sept. 11, 2010. I was hired through the venue to record this show (including many others throughout that week) and was then left standing with a hard drive and an invoice no one seemed to want. Four years later I still have the files and not really any idea what to do with them. But I like to share. So here we are. What you are hearing are just Courtney's isolated vocal and guitar mics (with the obvious bleed from the rest of the band). I've muted everything else. EDIT: There seems to be some confusion about where/what the video footage is. It's a video of the same performance. It's just not my video. I did not shoot this video. I did not edit this video together. I have merely taken my audio recording of the same performance and ...

This has been my prison
Got no high got no low
This has been religion
Took my heart killed my soul
All I want is a dream
Give me something to dream
Got myself in a scene
Don't know where I've been
All I want is a dream
Something naked and clean
Somebody give me a call
I'm climbing up on the wall
And I want it all
And I need it all
I can't get it
Took my heart and soul
Give them back to me
