  1. That wraps up today's media conference. Videos and stories to come.

  2. Roos says White is a really good listener, a defender with a nice left foot kick who's been developing well at Casey.

  3. Roos: Mitch White debuting is a good news story, he's a rebounding defender.

  4. Roos: I think (Col Garland's contract) is progressing along well.

  5. Roos says removing the sub rule does open up the opportunities for rucks in regards to a second ruck position.

  6. Roos on 90 interchanges: If you're out there on the ground longer, young players start to fatigue earlier than more experienced ones.

  7. Roos: While I think a 17 game season would be fantastic, the AFL's just signed a new broadcast deal.

  8. Roos: I think we're seeing a game that's a long game and a season that's really long...

  9. Roos says he understands why Adelaide, for example, could be upset but North Melbourne have the right to decide what they do with their team

  10. Roos says Scott (NM) and Lyon (Freo) have an obligation to their club and fans to decide what's right for their own club.

  11. Roos: There's clearly two different schools of thought (in regards to resting players)

  12. Roos: We're like the fans - we fall in and out of love with players throughout the season - but you've got to wait until the end of the year

  13. Roos says aside from Simon Goodwin and Brendan McCartney, everyone's had two years to look at the list.

  14. Roos: Jeremy (Howe) is like a lot of players, they weigh up opportunities and come back to the club (to discuss them)

  15. Roos: Out of respect for Crossy, we understood that he needed to know and wanted to know (where he stood before the end of the season).

  16. Roos: You'd prefer players to play well at the end of their career rather than play poorly - I don't mind that he's playing good footy.

  17. Roos: It wasn't an easy decision to make - they (Cross) wanted to make the decision before the season finished.

  18. Roos on Cross: It was a really difficult decision... As we say, there's no use by date on the back of the jumper.

  19. Roos: from a coaching point of view - we want to finish off the year playing the style of footy we want to take into the future.

  20. MEDIA: Paul Roos will now speak to the media. Tweets to follow.
