No license is required. Even if you have minimal experience you can still get involved with boat hire solutions from Cumberland. A comprehensive half day briefing is included in the charter price. We can even provide you with a live aboard Sail Guide or crew if required. Our sessions are designed to deliver you the ultimate boat hire experience in the Whitsundays. Situated 1000k north of Brisbane, this famous destination boasts 74 islands, mostly inclusive of uninhabited national parks. With plenty of anchoring options spanning across the region, visitors can choose a route that is both flexible and convenient.

Named by the one and only James Cook, these islands came to be discovered in 1770, but was previously home to active volcanoes millions of years ago. More notably, this area is home to the Ngaro Aboriginal community, otherwise known as the ‘Canoe People’.

Each of our vessels – be it a sailing catamaran, monohull yacht or power catamaran – are fully equipped with all the necessities to grant you comfort during your bareboat journey. Included on board is a selection of electronics such as iPod connectivity, GPS devices, VHF radio, gas stove and oven, amongst other facilities. Enjoy the on-board gas BBQ, swim ladders for easy access to the water, and even a fully equipped galley. Best of all, we offer a number of add-ons to put the finishing touch on your boat hire with Cumberland Charter Yachts– choose from helicopter or sea plane rides, paddleboards, scuba diving, snorkelling and more.

All you need to bring is your sunscreen, some light reading (if it’s your kind of thing), travel insurance information, swimming gear, a hat and sunglasses and a good pair of sneakers for wandering around the deck.
