'That thing is massive' shark caught on camera

Fisherman Craig Hudson films a close encounter with a 'massive' shark 15 kilometres off Busselton.

A fishing trip near the picturesque holiday spot turned into a once in a lifetime experience for Mr Hudson after a close encounter with the 'massive' shark caught on camera.

Speaking to WAtoday Mr Hudson said he was on board his boat with his 10-year-old son on Friday, who had been washing his hands in the ocean moments before the shark came into view.

"It was amazing," he said.

"It was placid and showed no sign of aggression."

In the video, Mr Hudson guessed the shark to be around 16-feet long and managed to grab some footage of the huge creature before cutting the lines to make a quick getaway.

"I tried to stay calm for the kids, I didn't want to hang around and scare them," the father said.

"I got around a kilometre away then stopped to get the boat in order but the kids were worried we were not far enough away."

The experience hasn't deterred the keen fishermen, as they were back fishing on Monday.
