Seoul, South Korea, is truly an amazing city to visit! It's modern, easy to navigate and there's little something everyone will enjoy. The Seoul subway system makes it easy to get around town and discover exactly what the giant city has to offer.
Surrounded by Japan and China, Seoul and South Korea sometimes doesn't get all the attention is deserves . Korea is home to a unique culture, cuisine and a fascinating history. If you ever have the chance to visit Seoul, you'll have a great time!
I traveled to Seoul Korea and was able to do all kinds of things, but I've narrowed this list down to twenty five of the best things to do in Seoul - of course there are other things as well but this list is just the beginning and intended to get your ideas and travel imagination flowing!
Anyway, on to the top Seoul attractions, here's the list in case you can't see the video:

I stayed in South Korea for just over 2 weeks and was able to complete this entire list of things to do in Seoul.
However, even though there are so many places to see and go, probably my favorite of all is eating and sampling delicious Korean food! Korean food is so good and there are so many restaurants everywhere you look in Seoul that it can truly be considered a foodie's paradise.
If you get a chance to visit Seoul I hope your'e able to do all these wonderful things while you're there!

This city takes shopping seriously, as you can find stores and markets scattered all around town. COEX Mall is Korea’s largest underground shopping mall, while Namdaemun Market features hundreds of vendors selling almost anything you can imagine, from kimchi to kitchenware. In the mood for some late-night shopping? Discover some of the best finds in fashion at Dongdaemun Market, which is open all through the night, closing around 7 a.m.
Continue your Seoul city tour by making your way to the theaters to witness some marvelous performances. These theaters know how to put on a show–Korean martial artists, dazzling dancers, and talented musicians take the stage at the Korea House, Jeongdong Theater, and Seoul Arts Center. Next, visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace to catch the opening and closing of the royal palace gates and the royal guard changing, or check out the Bosingak daily bell-ringing ceremony.

Seoul
Seoul (서울; Korean: [sʰʌ.ul]) – officially the Seoul Special City – is the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea, forming the heart of the Seoul Capital Area, which includes the surrounding Incheon metropolis and Gyeonggi province, the world's 14th largest city and second largest metropolitan area. It is home to over half of all South Koreans along with 678,102 international residents.
Situated on the Han River, Seoul's history stretches back more than two thousand years when it was founded in 18 BCE by Baekje, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. It continued as the capital of Korea under the Joseon Dynasty. The Seoul Capital Area contains five UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Changdeok Palace, Hwaseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Namhansanseong and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty. Seoul is surrounded by mountains, the tallest being Mt. Bukhan, the world's most visited national park per square foot. The name Korea is derived from the ancient Kingdom of Goguryeo, also known as Koryŏ. Highly urbanized at 92%, Koreans lead a distinctive urban lifestyle with half of them living in the Seoul Capital Area, the world's second largest city with over 25 million residents and a leading global city with the fourth largest economy, rated in 2016 as the world's most livable megacity and safest city to live in. The earliest Korean pottery dates to 8000 BC, with three kingdoms flourishing at 1st century BC. One of them, Goguryeo, ruled Northeast China, parts of Russia and Mongolia under Gwanggaeto the Great. Since their unification into Silla and Balhae in the 7th century, Korea enjoyed over a millennium of relative tranquility under long lasting dynasties with innovations like Hangul, the unique alphabet created by Sejong the Great in 1446, enabling anyone to easily learn to read and write. Its rich and vibrant culture left 17 UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity, the third largest in the world, along with 12 World Heritage Sites. Korea was annexed by Imperial Japan in 1910 due to its strategic and central location, after whose surrender in 1945, it was divided into North and South Korea. A North Korean invasion lead to the Korean War (1950–53). Peace has since mostly continued with the two agreeing to work peacefully for reunification and the South solidifying peace as a regional power with the world's 10th largest defence budget and strong global alliances. In 2016, Korea was rated as the world's safest country to live in, with the lowest crime rate.

Korea, called Chosŏn (Korean: 조선; Hanja: 朝鮮) in North Korea and Hanguk (Korean: 한국; Hanja: 韓國) or Daehanminkuk (Korean: 대한민국; Hanja: 大韓民國) in South Korea, is an East Asian territory that is divided into two distinct sovereign states: North Korea, formally the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and South Korea, formally the Republic of Korea (ROK). Located on the Korean Peninsula, Korea is bordered by China to the northwest and Russia to the northeast. It is separated from Japan to the east by the Korea Strait and the Sea of Japan .
Korea emerged as a singular political entity after centuries of conflict among the Three Kingdoms of Korea, which were unified as Silla (57 BC – AD 935) and Balhae (AD 698 – 926). The united Silla was eventually succeeded by Goryeo in 935 at the end of the Later Three Kingdoms period. Goryeo, which gave name to the modern exonym "Korea", was a highly cultured state and created the Jikji in the 14th century. The invasions by the Mongol Empire in the 13th century, however, greatly weakened the nation, which forced it into vassalage. After the Yuan dynasty's collapse, severe political strife followed. Goryeo eventually fell to an uprising led by General Yi Seong-gye, who established Joseon in 1388.

In short, it’s a place you have to see for yourself!

In the mood for some late-night shopping? Discover some of the best finds in fashion at Dongdaemun Market, which is open all through the night, closing around 7 a.m.
Continue your Seoul city tour by making your way to the theaters to witness some marvelous performances. These theaters know how to put on a show–Korean martial artists, dazzling dancers, and talented musicians take the stage at the Korea House, Jeongdong Theater, and Seoul Arts Center. Seoul (서울) is the capital of South Korea. With more than 11 million residents in the city limits and a whopping 24+ million people in the greater Seoul area (a.k.a. Seoul National Capital Area). Seoul is one of the world’s largest metropolitan cities and one of East Asia's financial and cultural epicenters. A fascinating blend of ancient traditions and cutting-edge digital technology, home to endless street food vendors and vast nightlife districts, an extraordinarily high-pressure educational system and serene Buddhist temples, a trend-setting youth culture and often crushing conformism, extraordinary architecture and endless monotonous rows of grey apartment buildings, Seoul is a city filled with stark contrasts.

2. The number “4″ is considered extremely unlucky, to the point where most buildings in Seoul do not have a 4th floor.
3. All South Korean roofs are curved at the ends giving the appearance of a smile.
4. South Korean men love makeup, spending close to US$900 million a year, or a quarter of the world’s men’s cosmetics. Up to 20% of the male Korean population is reported to use makeup regularly.
5. In Korea, babies are considered one year old at birth.

A huge monument commemorates the Korean War during which, between 1950 and 1953, around 400,000 people were killed. At that time, the United States of America and 20 other countries took part in a United Nations military operation to support South Korea against the forces of North Korea and China.
In 1988, the 24th Olympic Games took place in Seoul and for this, the Olympic Park was created, a huge area with a monument at its entrance and 200 sculptures that adorn various paths, designed to highlight Korea's global connection with the rest of the world.
At the end of the 18th century, the Hwaseong Fortress was built, now a World Heritage Sight. The fortress extends for 130 hectares and the distance from one main gate to the other is such that a dragon train is available for those who prefer not to walk.
In 1969, the N Seoul Tower was built to provide South Korea with TV and radio signals. Seoul's main landmark is 236 metres high and is equipped with several high speed elevators, as well as an observation platform and observatory.
Historic buildings, palaces, shrines and bridges all serve to underline the ultra modern appearance of Seoul, a mega city in the Land of the Silent Morning.
