Selected Lipizzaner stallions will present the figures of classical dressage riding during the Opening Presentation of the 2017 tourist season on March 19th at 15.00 p.m.

On Sunday, March 26th, the Lipica Stud Farm will welcome the runners of the 17th Karst Half Marathon.

Selected Lipizzaner stallions will present the figures of classical dressage riding during the Traditional Festive Presentation of the Lipica Classical Riding School on May 1st at 15.00 p.m. Their elegant movements and noble appearance while performing the most demanding elements of the classical dressage riding - such as pirouettes, passage and piaffe - always impress the spectators.

From May 5th to May 7th, the Lipica Stud Farm will be hosting the Alpe Adria Dressage Trophy Qualifier. Riders from Austria, Italy and Slovenia will compete in the open arena.

The story of the Lipizzaner and the Lipica Stud Farm begun in 1580. On May 19th 1580 the Habsburg Archduke Charles II, son of the Habsburg Emperor Ferdinand I, purchased the Lipica estate from the Bishop Nicolo' de Coret.This day counts as the date of establishment of the Lipica Stud Farm and as the date of the beginning of breeding the Lipizzaner horse breed. We traditionally celebrate it as the Day of the Lipizzaner, together with the Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association. We kindly invite the visitors to join us!

From May 25th to May 28th 2017 Lipica Stud Farm will be hosting the international dressage competition FEI CDIW / CDI3* / CDIYH / CDIJ / CDIY / CDIP / CDICh. The peak of the event will be the FEI Grand prix Freestyle to music test - FEI World Cup Dressage Qualifier on Sunday, May 28th.
