    On a serious note, fasting is a) not unique to Muslims and b) there are no statistics to prove any type of risk to (as she mentions) driving accidents or issues providing healthcare. This is asinine. There are bigger problems to worry about.

    ok the only consequence for the general public due to fasting Muslims I can think of is bad breath

    Yep fasting makes you realize how much time you spend eating or just hanging around in the kitchen because you’re bored or have nothing better to do.

    nah I'm actually more productive fasting because I'm not busy inhaling two plates of samosas

    "The word 'Ramadan' comes from the root word ramad, which literally translates as 'to burn'. The word 'Ramadan', it is suggested, denotes the burning of the sins of people with good deeds. (Tafsir Imam al-Qurtubi, Vol. 2 pg. 271)"

    Most think of Ramadan as a time to fast from only food and drink. But explains how Ramadan offers us a respite from the material world and a chance to connect with our Lord through His book, the Holy Qur’an.
