Blood+ is a 50-episode anime series based on the popular movie Blood: The Last Vampire . It follows vampire hunter Saya as she tries to uncover the mystery of her past all the while fighting against the Chiropteran menace.
Plot Overview
Blood is set in the present day and Saya Otonashi is living with an adoptive family and going to school like a normal girl, although she suffers from amnesia . Her life is turned upside down, however, when she is attacked by a Chiropteran. A mysterious man named Hagi comes to her aid and seems to know Saya and he awakens something inside of her that gives her the ability to destroy the Chiropteran. Haunted by this experience Saya sets out on a journey with her family, Hagi, and an organization called Red Shield whose mission is to exterminate the Chiropteran menace. Red Shield know the truth about Saya, that she is the only person alive who can truly eliminate the Chiropterans once and for all and the key lies in her blood. The reason for this lies in her mysterious past which goes all the way back to the mid 19th Century and involves Hagi, and the mysterious Chiropteran queen known as Diva.
