The VEC's Community Education Team works with groups in the community who may face barriers to democratic participation.

We explore the role democracy plays in people's lives and encourage a culture of active citizenship.

Local council elections are in October 2016. If you are a community member or a community-based organisation or group the following resources have been developed to assist with promotion of the local council elections.

Passport to Democracy links the democratic process to the issues young people care about. Online resources will assist students in identifying and taking action on local issues in their community.
