Today, nearly 1 billion people in the developing world don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. Yet, we take it for granted. This 3-part series in partnership with The World Affairs Council-Seattle, UW Global Studies, and Humanities WA will raise awareness about how geography, climate change and politics can affect access to this basic human need. March 1, 8, and 15.

This publication commemorates the 75th anniversary of executive order 9066 – which ordered the removal of Japanese Americans from Seattle during World War II. This supplement highlights the seldom told story of the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II to provide students with the opportunity to learn from a challenging time in our country’s history – and to apply lessons learned to issues of today.
