Tunis
Tunis (Arabic: تونس 
Tūnis) is both the capital and the largest city of Tunisia. The greater metropolitan area of Tunis, often referred to as Grand Tunis, holds some 2,700,000 inhabitants.
Situated on a large Mediterranean Sea gulf (the Gulf of Tunis), behind the Lake of Tunis and the port of La Goulette (Ḥalq il-Wād), the city extends along the coastal plain and the hills that surround it. At its core lies its antic medina, a world heritage site. Beyond this district lie the suburbs of Carthage, La Marsa, and Sidi Bou Said.
Just through the Sea Gate (also known as the Bab el Bahr and the Porte de France) begins the modern city, or Ville Nouvelle, transversed by the grand Avenue Habib Bourguiba (often referred to by popular press and travel guides as "the Tunisian Champs-Élysées"), where the colonial-era buildings provide a clear contrast to smaller, older structures. As the capital city of the country, Tunis is the focus of Tunisian political and administrative life; it is also the centre of the country's commercial activity. The expansion of the Tunisian economy in recent decades is reflected in the booming development of the outer city where one can see clearly the social challenges brought about by rapid modernization in Tunisia.

Club Africain
Club Africain (Arabic: النادي الإفريقي), also known as CA, is a Tunisian omnisport club founded in 1920 in the capital city, Tunis. Club Africain is best known for its association football team, which competes in the Tunisian Championship and is currently coached by Dutch Ruud Krol. Club Africain is one of the most popular football clubs in Tunisia. It fields several sport teams, including football, handball, and basketball.
It is a team from Tunisia that was founded on January 15, 1919. The Stade Olympique d'El Menzah is the club's home stadium.
History
In 1991 Club Africain beat Nakivubo Villa of Uganda 7-3 (6-2 in Tunis and 1-1 in Mityana) in the final of the 1991 African Cup of Champions. The club won its 12th Tunisian League title in 2007-08. They reached the final of the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup, where they lost on penalties to Moroccan team MAS Fez.

In the old town, there are more than 700 historic monuments which include 200 palaces, a colourful variety of buildings and numerous mosques.Among shoreline lava rock is the entrance to the Ghar El-Kebir, a collection of sandstone grottos. During Roman times, thousands of slaves were forced to bring building material for Carthage and El Djem from subterranean shafts. In Sousse, the simple fort of Ribat is probably the oldest Islamic building in North Africa, in which Muslim soldiers lived in monastery-like isolation and in the town’s Archaeological Museum there is a fantastic range of mosaics, predominantly from Punic and Roman excavations. Gabes is an oasis town which overflows with luxuriant floral splendour. By horse and carriage visitors can travel through one of the most beautiful maritime oases in Tunisia where, under 500,000 date palms, tobacco, henna, pumpkins, apricots and bananas thrive. The focal point of important caravan routes and trading centre for goods from Libya and Black Africa, Medenine is a very charming and lively city. Its reinforced honeycomb-shaped caves were the extraordinary-looking buildings that many will recall from the film ‘Star Wars’. The Sahara is the largest desert on earth, with different landscapes such as rock deserts, salt deserts and serene oases. Kebili is located on the edge of a huge salt lake and is a typical desert village with a green oasis and Artesian springs which provide water for its fruit and vegetable gardens. Next to the mosque are the securely guarded government buildings that incorporate the architectural styles of the old town. In the labyrinth of souks there is a tiny square with red-green pillars, the former slave market in which human captives were sold for profit. The 18th century mausoleum of Tourbet El Bey contains the tombs of the Husseiniden Dynasty, its stucco walls and marble pillars highlight the influence of Italian Renaissance. While strolling through the markets, it's like being part of an Arabian fairy-tale with all the magic of the One Thousand and One Nights.
The tall, octagonal minaret of the Sidi Youssef Dey Mosque is an example of Tunisia's earliest Syric building design and opposite is the Dar-el-Bey, former palace of the Turkish monarchs.
Dar Ben Abdallah is a splendid palace that dates back to the 18th century and since 1975, has incorporated a folklore museum that is well worth a visit. A large cool courtyard is dominated by a central marble fountain that is surrounded by both residential and official rooms. The lavish lifestyle of the 19th century is on full display in numerous rooms with precious furniture and crystal chandeliers, as well as beautifully attired life-size dolls.
Today, Bardo is an elegant suburb of villas but in the 19th century, the Turkish Beys built their palace district within it. The former harem today contains the majestic Bardo Museum.
Tunis has all the wonderful atmosphere of this region's historic and colorful past.

The ruins of the ancient city of Carthage look out over the deep blue waters of the Gulf of Tunis in Tunisia.
Carthage is said to have been founded in 814 BC by Phoenician Queen Dido and flourished into a prominent port city.
The city then entered into a turbulent relationship with the Romans when the Punic Wars broke out.
Carthage was utterly demolished by the Roman Empire during the Third Punic War and then revived as a Roman city shortly after. Because the Romans burned the town during the war, knowledge of Carthaginian culture is limited.
Ruins that can be seen today are primarily Roman, including the Roman amphitheater and the Antonine Baths.
Visitors enter Carthage by passing through the ruins of an ancient wall spanning twenty three miles around the city.
