A Rocky Shoreline

An image I captured from Independence beach, Sihanoukville Cambodia.
This is my time of the day, sat waiting for the dawn light to break the horizon, creating a cool world of mystical light and shadows.

LG Watch Sport

It's been a while since I'm excited about a new Android Wear device. I'm not even sure whether I'm excited right now, but LG Watch Sport's LTE support intrigued me.

I think the idea of being able to use a swartwatch without being dependent on your phone is the right direction. This is particularly useful for those wanting to do outdoor activities like running or biking without the need to bring a phone while still being connected.

On reality I think I don't think it will be really that dependable (yet?). Battery life will definitely take a hit, that's one thing. And currently in US it's restricted to Verizon and at&t only. I hate having to charge my watch every night.

I bought mine from Google Store and planning to put my Project Fi SIM. People have been reporting that it works, but there's no voice call functionality. That's not a big deal to be honest, as I don't even talk that much on the phone these days.

I just found it's a bit odd and ironic that an Android Wear device that's labeled as 'Designed with our friends at Google' is not launch wit Google's own Project Fi. I'm hoping full support will be available in the future.

Any of you getting these? Is your faith with Android Wear revived with this launch? Feel free to comment below :)ο»Ώ

X-flares: An Intriguing Combination of Rarity, Intensity, and Beauty

The above ultraviolet IRIS observation displays a rare and intense X1.6 solar flare. While ascetically appeasing, scientists use flare observations to understand flare production on the sun. Initially, scientists sort solar flares into classes based on their intensity.

It's Friday. I had an easy ride because I feel like crap (achy) and got my period (crampy). Of course, the ginger-bearded punk and I going for a kidless night in a nice hotel in Maine for Saturday night -- beach front room with a fireplace. Here's hoping I feel better/have a hiatus in bleeding tomorrow!

Pretty big 12/10 here. Before getting my Pixel, I bought the official case from the Google Store. 1 month later, it had torn from regular use. I called support and ordered a replacement I would be reimbursed for. Got the replacement and found that it didn't fit the back of the phone properly. Upon further inspection, it turned out the bottom of the case didn't even line up with the top and the whole thing was warped.ο»Ώ Can anyone recommend a good (thin) case? At this point, I'm considering getting a refund for both and buying something else.ο»Ώ
