David Beckham looked to have traded writing emails for making phone calls as he stepped out in central London on Wednesday.

The retired football ace, 41, smiled as he chatted away on his mobile while walking through the capital in a low-key ensemble.

He wore a grey flat cap with with a black jumper and grey jeans for his outing to the Melia White House hotel.

In the leak, David reacted angrily when he found out he had been passed over for a knighthood.

The former England captain branded the Honours Committee ‘unappreciative c***s’ and dismissed lower awards, ranting: ‘Unless it’s a knighthood f*** off’.

'It's a disgrace to be honest and if I was American I would of got something like this ten years ago,' he continued.

A spokesman for the star said: ‘This story is based on outdated material taken out of context from hacked and doctored private emails from a third party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture.’

In another email, David dismissed Oliveira's suggestion that he put one million dollars (£800,000) into a prize-giving Unicef dinner in Shanghai.

Beckham allegedly replied: 'I don't want to put my personal money into this cause,' claiming he added: 'To pour this million into the fund, is like putting my own money in. If there was no fund, the money would be for me. This f****** money is mine.'
