SBS today announced the appointment of Jim Carroll as Executive Producer of its flagship evening news service, World News Australia.
Carroll brings a wealth of experience in news and current affairs across Australia’s commercial television and radio networks. He is a recognised industry leader in delivery of news, current affairs, documentary and sports programming.
SBS will broadcast FRANCE 24 news in English from today.
The 30 minute news and current affairs program will be broadcast Monday to Friday at 3pm on SBS ONE. Each program will also be available to view online at SBS ON DEMAND.

In a historic day for Australia, a dedicated Indigenous television service will be available for all Australians free-to-air for the first time, when National Indigenous Television (NITV) begins broadcasting on SBS4 digital spectrum from 12 December 2012.
Optus currently delivers Viewer Access Satellite Television (VAST) to
broadcasters via two co-located Optus satellites, C1 and D3.
Optus already broadcasts some VAST channels such as National Indigenous Television (NITV) via its Optus D3 satellite.
NITV will begin producing its news and current affairs from the SBS studios this week, with plans on track for the launch of a new digital free-to-air Indigenous television channel in late 2012.
