First look! Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal fight to save Earth in Super Bowl trailer for their new movie Life

Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal star in the upcoming film, Life. 

And on Sunday, the movie's first trailer was released by Sony Pictures giving a first look at the Sci-fi thriller due out later this year. 

The actors play astronauts who are a part of a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station who fight to save Earth from an evolving life form on Mars.

Ariyon Bakare and Rebecca Ferguson also play astronauts in the film. 

The nearly three minute trailer begins lighthearted.

But soon enough the team discovers a rapidly evolving life form that caused extinction on Mars, and now threatens the crew and all life on Earth.

Hiroyuki Sanada and Olga Dihovichnaya are also apart of the cast. 

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the script and Daniel Espinosa directed the film.
