Chris Hemsworth has long been thought of as a super dad.

And the 33-year-old father-of-three took the title quite literally on Thursday.

The hunky Australian actor donned a superhero cape as he led the charge while his adorable twin sons Tristan and Sasha chased him around the house.

His blonde-locked brood also donned superhero capes as they chased after their shirtless father.

In the Instagram image posted to his stunning wife Elsa Pataky's account, the hunky actor exposed his muscular torso, opting to shun his shirt for a Superman cape.

He ran with his hands held up in the air in the iconic superhero's flying pose, his buff arms looking almost too wide to fit through an oncoming doorway.

The long-haired two-year-olds were dwarfed by their father in size, but not enthusiasm in the snap.

Donning Spider-Man and Captain America capes, the twins bounded up the hardwood floors in chase of their movie star dad.

Interestingly Thor, the character the Australian actor plays on the big screen, was not represented in the adorably playful snap.

Sunday's image is just another in the hunk's long run of adorable exchanges with his three kids.

During last month's Golden Globes ceremony, the star didn't even have to be in the room to get his children's undying attention.

When the 33-year-old appeared on-screen, his son adorably reacted by reaching out to the television to try and pull his father in for a hug.

Chris married actress Elsa in late 2010 after first meeting earlier the same year.

They share three children together.
