Marky Mark in a funk! Patriots fan Wahlberg 'forced' to flee stadium at end of third quarter... before team make greatest Super Bowl comeback
He was always in a funk as the leader of the Funky Bunch.
And New England Patriots fan Marky Mark Wahlberg is surely ruing walking out on the greatest ever Super Bowl comeback before it even began due to his chld being sick on Sunday.
The Boston native was captured making his way out of the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas with his disappointed sons leading the way.
In a rush: Patriots fan Mark Wahlberg was caught leaving after the third quarter by a videographer at the Super Bowl on Sunday
Videographer Allen Reid caught the backstage moment, which he captioned 'Mark Wahlberg leaving,' before duly serving it up on Twitter for everyone to enjoy.
The 45-year-old Ted star's antics were widely mocked, with one saying he is a 'typical bandwagon fan,' while another posting 'shame.'
However he later said he had to leave as 'his youngest' was ill, though he did not specify if it was his youngest son Brendan, eight, who was with him at the game, or his daughter Grace, who is two years his junior.
He said on Instagram: 'I had to leave the game early because my youngest wasn't feeling well. Trust me, I would have loved to be at the stadium - but family first. Doesn't mean I don't love my Patriots too!'
Forget Patriot games: The Boston native did not seem in the mood to stop after seeing his team seemingly humiliated on the biggest stage in American football

But it seems the pint-sized star and his brood were still thrilled by his team's historic achievement, even though he was not there to witness it in person.
For he shared an image of himself with his wife Rhea and their boys Michael, 10, and Brendan, eight, each holding one hand up to signal Tom Brady sealing his fifth title.
Transformers favourite Mar was lucky enough to have been invited onto the field before the vital game, and he took his boys, with him.
He shared a snap of them standing on the turf, both wearing Pats T-shirts for their favourite players No 87 Gronkowski and No. 29 Blount, as he knelt in front of them.
Shame he wasn't their to see it: He posted a snap with his family he captioned 'what a game!'
Passion: However his boys did not get to enjoy the thrill of seeing their team the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history

The actor captioned the snap: 'Big day with my little guys. #PatsNation.'
But it seems the star, who is good friends with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, could not bear to watch after his friend's dismal start to the game left his team in a hole.
They trailed 28-3 with just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter.
However they went on to score 31 unanswered points to seal a comeback victory in overtime.
