Chalk Farm Road
Evening stroll from Chalk Farm to Camden (Photos/words © urban75, March 2007)
A walk up to the Roundhouse followed by a few beers in the Lock Tavern.
The famous footbridge at the north end of the market.
Stables Market, the largest of the markets. A converted Victorian horse hospital, there's plenty of vintage clothing, good record stores and furniture to be found.
This part of the market has also had the glossy makeover treatment and is unrecognisable from ten years ago.
You can still make out the words, 'Bookbinders, Bacon & Sons Stationers' on the side of this building on Chalk Farm Road.
Old fashioned sign, 36 Chalk Farm Road. The Thompson family business traded on this site from 1850 and sold out to Harvey and Thompson Pawnbrokers in 1999.
Banksy graffiti, Chalk Farm.
Rehearsals in progress, the Roundhouse.
Stables market at night.
Lock Tavern pub -this used to be our regular haunt a few years back.
Inside the Lock Tavern pub. Bit posh now, isn't it?
'Top Class' sauna. A 'sauna stand up' sounds interesting.
Goth and Punk market neon sign.
Henry J Beans looking distinctly closed.
Grabbing a bite at Mr Shekels.
Elephant's Head, a mighty fine rockabilly boozer that has been our top Camden choice for several years now.
Modelling that Brooklyn graffiti look in Camden High Street.
An upside down plane strapped on to the front of a shop. And why not.
