Free house up for grabs in Busselton - there's just one hook

  • 58 reading now

A free house is up for grabs on social media, as long as the potential home owner meets one condition.

Private seller Paul Glover posted the weatherboard dwelling on the Busselton Buy and Sell Facebook page, saying the deal was that the new home owner would need to remove the entire house from the block.

Mr Glover said it did not matter whether the house was demolished or transported to another site, just as long as everything was gone.

The home has been advertised as free on the Facebook page for the past two weeks and Mr Glover said one interested homeowner had done their homework.

"It was going to cost them $50,000 to transport the house to another block, it would have to be split in two," he said.

"There are pros and cons to getting a free home, people need to be aware of the cost."

The house belongs to Mr Glover's mother and is up for grabs because she is moving to Busselton from Perth and wanted to build her dream home on the block.

Mr Glover said his mother was a pensioner and it would cost her $16,000 to have it demolished which was too much for her.

"I have only been trying to get her here for 30 years, I have waited a long time for her to move" he said.

If anyone would like to take the free home they may contact Mr Glover on 0428 789 017.
